First Time Cameras Setup and BlueIris

Yes this, but pretty sure he meant he uses a web browser to log into the cameras to set the config. On that note, not sure if someone has done a basic "Dahua" camera setup for BI. After you have set the IP you want to log in to the camera via the web, (if you are having problems seeing the...

Cam shows yellow ! at top and no bitrate

Was going to delete but I'm leaving this here. I shutdown BI and started it again, it went away after that. I had just rebooted so I didn't think of this initially.

Cam shows yellow ! at top and no bitrate

After rebooting I have a single CAM Dahua 5231R that has the yellow circle with a ! in at at the top of that camera. Also it doesn't report a bitrate in BI. Looking up in the manual says usually the frame rate is mismatched. Checked, double checked, changed the frame rate, changed the...

Zone Crossing - Not working - What have I missed ?

Correct, zone crossing rule would be A-B for both directions. Do not use G in the example I'm giving above. It's just there to keep tracking the object.

Zone Crossing - Not working - What have I missed ?

Yep, you don't have to do that. What it does help with is movement from trees/shadows as they have to move a fair amount to get from a zone that doesn't touch or near another zone. So for simplistic sake say zone A is the left 1/3 of the screen and zone B is the right 1/3 of the screen and zone...

    Dahua 2MP Starlight Lineup

AND that on my last order (a few days ago) Andy (@EMPIRETECANDY) realized that I might have made a mistake in the brackets I was ordering and emailed me back with amazing details about the brackets and just "double checked" I had the right part numbers. HE was correct and saved me from getting...

Help > Dahua SD6CE245U-HNI PTZ install

Can also be purchased in a brick at your local box stores (Lowes and Home Depot) rather cheaply. Very similar to coax seal but cheaper and in a brick.

Help > Dahua SD6CE245U-HNI PTZ install

Duct Seal Is your friend. Although I advocate also using a box for $. But all my wires going into boxes get duct seal. Because rubber wears out...duct seal doesn't.

Dashcam captures thieves, but quality is too low

Camera pointed right into the sun...man that would be difficult for just about any cam. I back to back cam might have been handy in this situation to record the inside. Would have gotten a much better ID shot and proof. However if you had the license plate number I can't see them getting...

We had a thief.. And now I want a better system

I don't have a sprinkler system...but if I did...I would have no issues setting that up while the house is armed. If the local PD walks through my yard while I'm away..they will get wet too.

    90 Degree Turret Mounting

So, size of the hole and real estate needed for cables behind cam sounds like the reason. Either PFA137/9 for surface mount or PFB203W for 90deg. Thanks!

    90 Degree Turret Mounting

I'm going to echo this question. I have a few 5231s that I'm thinking of moving lower onto my siding vs soffit. Why would I want to use PFB203W vs mounting directly to the siding as shown above? Advantages? What am I missing? @looney2ns I think you might be a good one to comment on this as I...

Latest New 20180813 Firmware for DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea

Interesting. Mine does this in full daylight, exposure on auto, auto iris (my usual daylight settings) and autofocus misses every time. Just for the heck of it I changed to manual shutter speed like you said above. Same results. It starts by moving the focus quickly towards near...then goes...

Latest New 20180813 Firmware for DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea

Anyone notice any autofocus issues with this firmware? A few of my IPC-HDW5231R-Z cams when I hit autofocus they just can't seem to ever focus correctly. I use the Day/Night utility so I don't really use the autofocus in the cam...but still looks like an issue. I tries, focus's out and then...

Latest New 20180813 Firmware for DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea

Finally! (I was on the 2017 firmware previous) When I edit DAY/NIGHT profiles the fields actually change when you switch the dropbox back and forth. Previous when you switched which profile you were editing..nothing changed...now it works as one would expect.

    Blue Iris Video Tutorials

There are lots of home automation systems that can accomplish that. If you are looking for something "rather" easy. Look into the samsung "smartthings" products. The basic hub and products are pretty easy to use and there is a GREAT BlueIris connector to connect the two products.

    Object (person) detection

Thanks for bringing that up! It's only $1.00 per 1,000 images per month after the first free year. Which really isn't that expensive for the amount of images I upload (probably less than that number) and the decrease of false positives is DEFINITELY worth that to me. Is it better than...

Dahua Recommendation for 24/7 Live YouTube Stream.

Quite honestly most of the cameras you see in this forum would easily handle that task. Most people here are looking for really good low light performance. Not sure if that is at all important to you or if resolution is. For lowlight, either of these would fit the bill. For higher resolution...
