4ch dahua nvr, huge delay when playing back recordings? normal??

How have you found changing from the Hikvision to Dahua NVR (apart from the slow playback mentioned?) Are you using any Hik cameras on it?

Attempted firmware upgrade on Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P gone bad.

So, fast forward a couple of years and I notice there's a later version Aussie specific firmware, so I update. Once again I get locked out and need the xml unlock file. Only this time I've got other bugs in the NVR operation. The seller (who also unlocked it the first time) has said I've done...

Review of the Hikvision OEM model IPC-T2347G-LU 'ColorVu' IP CCTV camera.

It would be good if they showed someone walking around in the area in that footage. In my experience, you need a minimum 1/50th (or 1/60th) exposure time to have any hope of getting a meaningful picture of a person (eg. a still shot from the video for ID purposes) at night. My Hik cameras all...

Mic options for Turrent and Bullet cameras?

The Hikvision one I used/ mentioned requires 12VDC power to operate. It's an excellent mic and worth the added installation inconvenience of requiring 12V power to operate. I already had a small 12V off grid solar system, so I've powered the mic from that (directly off the battery, so not a...

New Hik 4MP "Powered by Darkfighter" DS-2CD2H45FWD-IZS DS-2CD2345FWD-I

I've got some mains powered sensor lights that come on if there's any activity in that area and their extra light puts it back into day/colour (after the shortest delay setting which is 5 seconds IIRC.) That's good enough for my purposes.

New Hik 4MP "Powered by Darkfighter" DS-2CD2H45FWD-IZS DS-2CD2345FWD-I

No, I haven't got any. What sort of prices have you found? I've got two of the 3MP varifocal model, which is a step up from the fixed lens 3MP models (I've got 4mm and 6mm.) The image is a lot sharper, but the varifocals do seem to be slightly less sensitive in lower light and will switch to...

No Motion Recording on Dahua Camera Connected to Hikvision NVR

You also need to set-up the Dahua via its Web based interface. You won't get any motion events shown on the NVR during playback (on the time line) from what I've found. You'll need to do a manual search and then playback each event manually, a PITA.

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

I made the mistake of buying my Hik NVR from a local distributor- in case of warranty or firmware issues. I then discovered I'm locked into using firmware from Hikvision Australia- the problem is they don't bother releasing the latest firmware that's available from overseas Hik sites. So I'm...

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

When I've had issues, using "Plug and Play" and then reverting back to a manual connection has fixed things. That's using a Hik NVR as well.

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

Yes, I know what you mean. That can possibly be reduced adjusting the noise reduction- using the Expert setting like I mentioned in the settings previously. The top line (Space DNR) can introduce that "movement" and that's why I leave it set to zero on my cameras. It's not a big deal if it's...

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

What do cropped stills of faces look like with the current setup? As aster1x mentioned, at the default 1/25th sec exposure you will have some degree of motion blur if anyone is moving- even at walking pace. BLC - Auto should help with the driveway overexposure. You're going to need some low...

Yes, play around with WDR settings and also adjust the contrast level right down.

Mic options for Turrent and Bullet cameras?

I've got the 3MP varifocal turret DS-2CD2H35FWD-IS and have a Hikvision mic connected. The generic Hik instructions show you can use either a 3.5mm mono or stereo plug to connect the mic to the camera- note that only a 3.5mm stereo plug will work (with both the L&R channels shorted together for...

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

Yes, I'm aware of the motion blur issues at 1/25th (which is the default lowest speed.) The problem is running 1/50th (or higher) at night reduces the light sensitivity and you can end up with excessive noise- also resulting in a useless image. For close up subjects it's easier to provide...

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

One other setting I'm trialing is setting the exposure to 1/100th sec for the Day schedule. It improves the stills and makes details (eg. faces) clearer. In low light it will cause more noise, so I've left "Night" at 1/25th.

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

Yes. I found BLC on during the day will totally over expose objects in the sun. WDR works well (at low levels) during the day (for showing up details in shadows) but I've found it introduces a lot of noise at night. So try BLC at night and WDR during the day - that's what works best for me...

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

This is what I'm using for night settings in colour. (Note: The previous posts I've been mentioning "HLC", I should have said "BLC" - sorry....) Under "Configuration", "Image" (I'm using "Scheduled Switch" so I can run different settings for day and night.) "Night" "Image Adjustment"...

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

If it's anything like in Australia they'd be using stolen number plates on the car. So getting that info may not be of much assistance.
