Please help! Need evidence I was home during accused hit and run. BI clips much shorter than selected length.

My concern is, if I get a lawyer, that implies guilt, at least that's how I think the cops will view it. If their time is correct, there is no doubt, based on my video evidence, that I was not there. Files copied to multiple locations.

Please help! Need evidence I was home during accused hit and run. BI clips much shorter than selected length.

The entire BI clip is 2 hours and 2 minutes (3.9GB in the calendar window, about 4.1GB in the folder). This is around the time I converted from BI4 to BI5. It lost most of the clips that BI 4 had recorded. I moved the BI4 clips from www/4 to www/5 but they still had issues. I rebuilt the data...

Please help! Need evidence I was home during accused hit and run. BI clips much shorter than selected length.

Today I received a letter from the Police Department claiming I was involved in a hit and run. They list the date and approximate time. With my Video Surveillance recordings, I can prove I arrived home before that time and did not leave until the next morning (if I export clips from all night...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

I've spent days and countless hours reading through this thread. I like to be a good member and try not to repeat questions that have already asked. :) I am up to page 46 but I am concerned about one thing I see and I don't want to wait any longer. I use an Asus RT-AC88U router with OpenVPN...

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

VPN in to Blue Iris, if you use it, or to your NVR and view the cameras through those interfaces. I have a monitor connected to my BI PC and have it switched on whenever I am in the den or in the garage (another monitor wired to the garage). I have a wireless keyboard on the BI PC. If and when I...

Blue Iris only has a day and a half of recording after updating to BI5

Changed settings as shown. Any reason to allocate any space to Stored if I'm not using it? It's at 10GB for now. I set New allocation to 800GB (it's a 1TB drive). Looks to be another 120GB available. Should I increase this allocation? I also copied the clips from Stored to New. Had to rebuild...

Blue Iris only has a day and a half of recording after updating to BI5

Makes sense now that I think about it. Not sure how it was set on my BI4 install. Maybe it changed when I installed BI5 or maybe it was wrong all along. In BI4 it did keep a full drive of recent clips. Anyway, thanks to both of you!

Blue Iris only has a day and a half of recording after updating to BI5

Thank you Walrus! I never understood that page of options. I'll do as you recommend when I get home this evening. BTW, I checked this morning, and it is storing additional clips after I deleted the older BI4 clips.

Blue Iris only has a day and a half of recording after updating to BI5

Maybe I figured this out. Time will tell. I went into my D drive Blue Iris Clips, Stored folder and deleted all but one BI4 clip (saving to see if it ever gets overwritten). The display at the bottom of the cameras window no longer displays a negative D drive capacity value, it is now positive...

Blue Iris only has a day and a half of recording after updating to BI5

BTW, I noticed I've also stored other files (non-BI files) on my D drive. Could this be messing things up? I don't recall allocating a fixed amount of space on the D drive for BI clip storage. DOes BI know to only overwrite BI clips and leave all other data alone? When I increased the clip...

Blue Iris only has a day and a half of recording after updating to BI5

In addition, the stored clip dates stop at 1/27, then pick up at 1/21 which was likely the BI4 clips.

Blue Iris only has a day and a half of recording after updating to BI5

What should that be instead of 10GB? I have a 1TB drive. I don't recall what it was on BI4, could it have changed? I had nearly a month of recordings. After i installed BI5 I changed all my cameras (5 of them) to 15FPS, most were recording more than that. I did look on my D drive, Blue Iris...

Blue Iris only has a day and a half of recording after updating to BI5

I click the calendar and I don't even have 2 days of recordings. I updated from BI4 to BI5 about a week ago. Shortly after doing that, the calendar only showed a short amount of time (recordings). I assumed this was because my folder changed from WWW 4 to WWW 5. But I logged in tonight (days...

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

Thanks! Once I put my cameras on their own network, behind my Blue Iris PC, I won't be able to log into the cameras from any other computer on my network, right? I'll have log into them using the Blue Iris PC. Not that it's a big deal, or that I do that often. I thought I read where there was a...

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

Why would someone want to go through the hassle and expense (NIC card, switch, ?) to do this? If someone is able to see my cameras, then I have bigger problems because they have already penetrated my firewall. What am I missing?:idk:

    Hard Drive Failure Notification

I've read many a post/recommendation, to have 2 hard drives and split the cameras between the two, in order to ensure at least some video capture coverage in case one hard drive fails. Is there software or other, that can notify me of a hard drive failure or failing hard drive? My NAS will do...

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

2 NIC (Network Interface Card), I assume you mean dual NIC. Do I need to buy a dual NIC card for my BI PC or a single NIC card and continue to use the Network RJ45 connection on the computer motherboard in addition to a single NIC? Computer is a Dell Optiplex 9020. Single NIC...

Distribute cameras images to other locations

I've explained about all I can. I don't have great PC knowledge. I'm sure others can help you better than I. I do know this setup has worked for years. Nothing to update. It just works. The Roku approach is interesting.

Distribute cameras images to other locations

I don't have a diagram but the products linked explain how to hook up the components. You can see the diagrams on Amazon when you search for the products. You have to feed the transmitter an HDMI signal from your security system (Blue Iris PC, Hikvision recorder, etc). You may need an HDMI...

Jerky, late, and disappearing recordings 8MP Hikvision

Direct to disc was not set for this camera, it must have reset somehow. as it was not jerky for the last year or so, and I'm sure I set it to direct to disc. But the important thing is the problem has been identified and fixed. The other 4 cameras remained set to direct to disc. The images on the...

Hi Fenderman, Thanks for the quick reply. BI 4.7..3.2 x64 MY i7 Dell was a model recommended to me by you a couple of years ago, a 9020 Optiplex i7. Jerky, late, and disappearing recordings 8MP Hikvision

This is a rebranded Hikvison camera that Nelly's sells as model NSC-2X8-DM. It's an 8MP 2.8mm Turret. I've had this camera for over a year. Lately I can't seem to get it to record smooth video. Images are jerky, they pause , they jump/skip, or the image simple disappears. I have multiple...

Updated Blue Iris, No Signal on 8MP Turret

RandomQ and BP2008, thank you! That worked. Blue Iris properties for this camera was set to H.264, but logging into the camera via browser, showed it was set to H.265. Changing it back to H.264 did the trick. Thank you so much. This forum is great!

Updated Blue Iris, No Signal on 8MP Turret

This camera has always been a bit temper mental. It was bought at Nelly’s, their model number is NSC-2X8-DM....... It’s an 8MP Hikvison Turret. From time to time, over the time I’ve had this camera, the Blue Iris monitor shows “No Signal” but a little while later the image returns. It has been...
