No, they don't. Most people are like "oohhhh, easy home security cameras, TAKE MY MUHNIES!" I'll be honest tho I'm one of the many people who were naïve to network security until I started to delve deeper into it after reading the stuff posted here. Most people just don't know because they...

Thanks man I appreciate it. This is the top of the screen with the instructions that i followed putting them on the blacklist. And this is the bottom part of that screen. I have all the IP Addresses for my cameras listed and I have Port 80 for the range. It defaulted to TCP so I'm hoping...

Hacked cams played a big role in the DoS attack earlier this week?

I have Hikvision cams. I'm just not totally sure I set it up in my router to block them correctly. I think I did but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know how to test them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is it legal to post videos online?

Legal advice from an attorney is different than clarification of law from a judicial body. Maybe the DA's in your county refuse to provide that type of service but it's commonplace where I'm from. I've spent countless hours explaining the difference between the two with regards to numerous...

Comcast (Xfinity) will activate 1 Terabyte data limit plan beginning November 1st

Decent internet that's affordable can help a lot of people. Where I live there's Comcast or Verizon. Verizon's max bandwidth is 5-8 Mbps, but I've yet to see a bandwidth test break 4-5. I pay for the Comcast triple play so it's all lumped together and I normally break 150mbps. Some friends and...

Comcast (Xfinity) will activate 1 Terabyte data limit plan beginning November 1st

We can't have this [emoji1369], we have lobbyists instead [emoji13] And Fenderman I agree to a point however adding to what nayr said, internet connectivity has no true competition when the top dog, namely Comcast or TWC keep gobbling up the smaller providers. Most areas only have 1-2 options...

Is it legal to post videos online?

Funny, I've seen the exact opposite since most attorneys deal in civil and not criminal law. That's why I recommend calling the district attorneys office. They're the ones who would be responsible for actually prosecuting if something illegal would occur and the police wanted to charge you...

Comcast (Xfinity) will activate 1 Terabyte data limit plan beginning November 1st

There has been a good amount of articles written showing the ridiculous amount of profit cable companies make on providing internet. I'd love to see companies show just how they justify charging extra for the data. I agree wholeheartedly with nayr, it's nothing more then keeping people from...

AT&T Gigapower (Fiber to the Home) with an Oculus Rift

Yeah my Comcast is nice, average between 150-170 Mbps down and around 10-12 up. Luckily I'm not pegged for a data cap yet either. Not sure how they can really do something like data caps but someone once said 'greed is good'... still waiting to see how that is.

Is it legal to post videos online?

There isn't a catch all right or wrong answer so you're best bet is to research the laws within your state. Start by looking online for your own states crime code. If you aren't happy or comfortable with what you've found, I'd suggest contacting a local magistrate or county courthouse/district...

Turrets Turrets Turrets, u won't regret it. There are a few varifocal Dahua's to consider, or Hikvision. Use a 6mm or higher for the mailbox if possible and consider an external IR source, or def get a 3.6-12mm varifocal for that. As far as the doors to the front/back, don't go less then 4mm...

how do i shutdown blue iris?

Yeah but if you don't want it to run as a service, don't set it up to run as service. Open the console when you want it to work and then turn it off when you are done. Most people don't have a need to shut them down, that's what makes it convenient, just turn it the PC on and go. So your...

how do i shutdown blue iris?

If you're running it as a service and you are talking about the desktop version (akaConsole), just click the X in the upper right hand side and your done. It just closes the console part but leaves it running as a service in the background.

    Question on making lan/cat lines

Just remember with the jacket stripper, you wanna have it shallow enough so it doesn't go all the way thru, u wanna have to bend the cable and hear the snap. Otherwise theres a good chance you knicked the inner wires (or cut them outright which will weaken them). I had some issues with the...
