    PC-NVR for Dahua or ?

I do not have a long term solution but I do have short term search with iVMS Lite 4200 under Hikvision. It reads the SD Cards from the cameras and can playback, showing events. Pretty accurate at catching several events, including a tree falling down onto my driveway (I was looking to see if it...

    New LPR camera?

I thought I saw in passing a comment by Andy @EMPIRETECANDY saying a new LPR camera was coming, and that it would be worth the wait. Is this a better idea than the 12x zoom Lory that's out there? I'm still fighting mine and, while I do enjoy the challenge, I've decided having some extra time...

Interestingly, the VSS pin wasn't connected. I jumpered 3.3V into it (still waiting on confirmation for a particular PNP transistor). Then I had clock issues. But more importantly: [0m[32;40m05:05:26|[libStorage] [ver:] info tid:983 CStorageManager::dump(): [0m{ "BUS" : "MMC"...

    Ohio Storm

Yep, that's Indiana for you. (Yeah I know, Ohio) Freakiest storm I was ever in was when it rolled in so fast while I was taking photos- you couldn't tell where the green/yellow grass of the hill I was looking at ended and the sky began. -yellow/sun lit grass that you see when storms roll in-...

Adding a microSD Card to the IPC-HDW4433C-A, and dumping the firmware...

Yes, it's a cheap, not - upgradeable chinese camera. Anyway I dumped the firmware and discovered lots of little goodies in it. In addition, another thread references it as a IPC-HDW4431C-A-V3 ; which would imply it may be able to be upgraded using the Dahua Kit that was so nicely built here...

    My Dahua IPC-HDW4433C-A died

If you've still got it, I'd buy it for parts. I've got 3x of them and wouldn't mind having one to screw around with a little 'less careful' for flashing.

    Firmware for Dahua IPC-HDW4433C-A

I just cracked open mine to see what it was like, and it turns out it's already wired for a microSD card- just add the socket. So I did. Unfortunately the OS doesn't see it (yet) but the pin-outs looked good. I don't have the schematic for the Hisilicon chip to check to make sure the data lines...

    IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 LPR from 137 feet

Indeed. I have a bunch of the quad LEDs on 20mm stars, and I'll be putting it into a nice little housing. My guess is though it won't be enough. So what I intend on doing is taking a 6 up housing, getting a new MCPCB, and reflowing 6x of the quad LEDs. I'll then use a converter to drop/regulate...

    IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 LPR from 137 feet

I have a similar IR light as you, but mine was potted. I intended to replace all the lenses with 5 degree optics- but couldn't. So right now I have a small 6 element one with 10 degree optics, and it doesn't have enough power. Still waiting on the parts to keep building a true IR power house...

LPR in a state with no front plates

    HiSilicon 'cheapy' camera, unencrypted firmware

I thank you, good Sir. Packaging it back up though- is there a good tutorial/example there? Unfortunately I only have the one piece of hardware. I'd be removing all the other .img s from the flash (as they're listed in the install.desc) and only patch the one that's needed. Ideally I'd like to...

Can you disable a cam with a.....

Well, there are things you can do to limit the damage. Obviously. Just hitting you with a red or green laser pointer will suck but it'll also be recorded on the camera. So you'll have the video. Not too many people would be bright enough to use an IR laser (because how can you see that), so...

Can you disable a cam with a.....

Yes, you can destroy a sensor with a laser. It surprisingly does not take a lot of power. Specifically you can destroy certain pixels and possibly rows. I've seen professional DSLRs ruined at stage events when a laser scans across the wide angle lens. That said, is someone going to come by and...

    HiSilicon 'cheapy' camera, unencrypted firmware

I have a cheapie IMX291 from Ali that I've been playing with, and the firmware (which kindly is online) is un-encrypted. Appears to be a number of squash-fs systems, and all IMG files to boot. Binwalk does a pretty good job tearing it down though there is one archive that doesn't seem to...

Hikvision 'mud ring' replacement STL or source

I seem to have lost the mud ring that goes around the top of the turret (covers the screws, etc). That's what I get for waiting to install for so long.
