What Does Windows 11 give me. Should I upgrade.

The Dell PC most likely has the Windows license info embedded in the BIOS chip so you can still do a clean install and get the new version of Windows activated at no charge.

What Does Windows 11 give me. Should I upgrade.

You shouldn't have to buy Windows 11. Just download the Windows 11 Media Creation tool from Microsoft. The installation process should see that your PC is eligible for a free update if you were upgrading a PC that was already running an older licensed version of Windows.

ONVIF alerts not working on 5.7

I'm not complaining. I figure that's the price I pay for always updating Blue Iris to the latest version. It's a work in progress. I'm sure a future update will fix the problem.

ONVIF alerts not working on 5.7

All of my cameras show a GetEvents error code in Blue Iris. Not just Dahua either, Amcrest and Hikvision as well. I'm on the latest version 5.7.5.6

ONVIF alerts not working on 5.7

From what I can tell about three updates to Blue Iris have been released in the last week or so to address a ONVIF GetEvents issue.

New Review of Blue Iris and CodeProject

Just watched a new YouTube video from The Hook Up that came out a couple days ago. It's a long, comprehensive tutorial of setting up Blue Iris and utilizing CodeProject for AI. It seems like he has done his homework on the subject, but he speaks so fast it doesn't make the best tutorial.

Just upgraded to 5.7.5 - April 20, 2023 and lost all my alerts and my database

I just updated as well. Afterwards the clips were not visible on the left side of the dashboard as usual, but I just clicked on the "show/hide clips" icon in the upper left corner and they returned.

Using cameras for before/after shots - Yard makover

Looks good. Did you have to resod or did it green up on it's own? Getting rid of the pool and patio must have been quite a chore!

Plastic pipe to bury in yard as conduit for future wire pulls

Are you going to dig the trench? I don't think a cable installer is going to dig much of a trench to install a coax cable, and they probably won't go down 12 inches either. They may just use a spade shovel. YMMV.

Nice to know my network is working - cameras blocked

I noticed the same thing on my UDMSE recently. I think that feature was added in a recent update. I'm using Vlans to isolate the cameras, along with a second NIC in the Blue Iris PC. But seeing all those messages coming from the firewall log makes me think I should have set up fake default...

Truck loses wheel on freeway which launches adjacent SUV airborne

Yes, the brake rotor still being attached to the wheel tells the story. If the lug nuts were left loose the rotor would still be on the vehicle. Crazy how the wheel came back to the scene of the crime and smacked the Kia one more time! lol

Truck loses wheel on freeway which launches adjacent SUV airborne

I read a news report that said the lugs on the truck were sheared off. I bet the truck had been worked on recently and the lug nuts were left loose. Luckily the driver of the small SUV walked away from the wreck. I would never have believed a loose wheel could cause a SUV to launch that high in...

Blue Iris Update Error "Access Denied" 5.7.2.0 --> 5.7.2.2

I just updated Blue Iris from 5.7.2.0 to 5.7.2.2 this morning and had no issues. I don't have any anti-virus programs installed though.

    Camera just quit working.

We use Motorcraft dielectric grease in the Ford dealership service department. It works great on electrical connections and also for brake caliper mounting pins. I think it lists for about 18 bucks per tube. I've got a ton of it if anyone in the Houston area wants any for free.

    Camera just quit working.

I'm no expert, but with all you have done already I would start suspecting the long cable run. Have you looked for corrosion on the cable ends where they terminate?

    dumping tires

I found that out during the old Firestone tire-Ford Explorer rollover fiasco. The first generation Explorers came from the factory with Firestone tires and were prone to rolling over. Ford was blaming Firestone and Firestone was blaming Ford. I worked at a Ford dealership service dept back then...

    Unresponsive Computer?

Have you checked the event viewer in Windows? That may shed some light on what's causing it to crash. You also need to provide more details as to your current setup. Is this a new computer build or an existing system?

Idiots on HOA Board installed useless speed bumps

Glad you found it. I've been looking all over for my lost torque wrench. I'll send you a shipping label so you can return it!! lol :p

Could I end up with "too many" cameras? Consequences?

Looks just like my old 1977 Ford Country Squire station wagon! Had a 460 cubic inch big block with a C6 transmission. Took the family on vacation in 1985 and drove that thing to the top of Pike's Peak in Colorado! Being from Houston, I had to adjust the carburetor to account for the thin air. I...

    Thieves took my DVR!

The last house I owned in Houston was like that. The house was built in 1992 and had an attached garage that the door swung out into the garage. One day my wife locked herself out of the house when I wasn't home. A neighbor came over and popped the hinge pins off the door to get her back in! I...

BI crashes - Advice Prior to Computer Rebuild

I can confirm the bios update didn't fix the concern with my new build. I think I'll just load Blue Iris on my trusty Dell Optiplex i5-6500 until I get it sorted out.:idk:

BI crashes - Advice Prior to Computer Rebuild

Also make sure your Bios and chipset drivers are current. I just built a new PC for Blue Iris and am dealing with random crashes as well. The Windows event viewer app just reports an unexpected shutdown, with no details. I just loaded a new recently released Bios for my Asus Z590 motherboard...

The Medical Industry is soooooo Broken

I'm very close to retirement as well. I have been advised that you don't want to convert your IRA to a Roth until after retirement when you will be in a lower tax bracket. As you stated my Medicare premiums are higher due to IRMAA if you are still working and your income is over a specified...

The Medical Industry is soooooo Broken

Yes, everyone over 60 should get the shingles vaccine. Insurance usually won't pay for it if you are younger than that. My stepson had a bout of it in his scalp when he was fifty though.
