[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Hi @Spaldo I believe that CPU supports AVX. I’m not exactly sure where the CPU emulation setting is at on VirtualBox, but it would definitely be set in VirtualBox. Check under the advanced CPU setting under the VM setting in VirtualBox. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just a heads up here. If you are running the Windows version of Deepstack, your CPU needs to support AVX. If it doesn’t Deepstack will activate, but AI Tool will not be able to communicate with Deepstack. I went into this in great detail in post #338 in this thread. You can run the no AVX...

This is set in BI under the trigger-->break time for recording after motion has ceased. The cool down time in AI Tool sets the time between multiple triggers, from what I understand.

This sounds like the CPU on the machine that Deepstack is running on. Watch your CPU performance on the Deepstack machine to see if it spikes to 100% during motion events. This was what I was running into as well. It would take 20 to 30 seconds to process all of the images that were dropped into...

That's great to hear. I look forward to your additional findings. I changed my clones to use the sub stream of each camera as well, which significantly helped response time and CPU load of Deepstack. I'm hoping to be able to ditch the old Dell PowerEdge 2950 that Deepstack is running to run in...

Let me know if running in Docker in Windows improves the CPU usage. I had to move Deepstack to another server for the same reason. It was running on a Xeon E5-2960 V2 10 core with Hyper-threading and was maxing out the CPU. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I haven't seen much of an increase by cloning cameras. You should check the status to see if only one stream is pulling for each camera-this is how it should be. Also, you should disable all overlays on the cloned cameras as well as audio (if your camera supports audio). This CPU increase may be...

Deepstack recently went from paid (with a free offering for personal use) to open source. I’m not sure how that affects the activation, but I never entered an API key, but I did enter an activation key. This only needs to be entered once. I run my system headless as well. Deepstack will run...

I did, I ended up going back a version. I copied the contents of the extracted folder, excluding the cameras directory, to the folder that AI Tool was in and this fixed my issue. Since then I’ve upgraded to the beta version that @GentlePumpkin released a few days ago and it is working well. I...

Camera Feeds Stop Until Camera is Rebooted in BI After Power Outage

Thanks for this. I verified that when the camera streams freeze they also stop recording, etc. Unfortunately it is more than the camera feed freezing in the desktop view. I am on the latest stable version, 5.2.7.12.

Camera Feeds Stop Until Camera is Rebooted in BI After Power Outage

My BI server is on a UPS. The cameras that stay up are on a POE switch connected to a UPS. The other cameras that aren't on in detached garages which aren't on UPS. It is on my to-do list to get battery backups for the garages. The power outage is only for a few seconds. I never had this...

Camera Feeds Stop Until Camera is Rebooted in BI After Power Outage

Just wondering if anyone else has this issue in BI. After a power outage, and the cameras reboot, the camera feed freezes in BI until I restart a camera in BI. Once I restart one camera the others pull a live feed. The only cameras that are affected are not on battery backup. My cameras that are...

More modern CPU's support AVX. I have a HP Z420 with a Xeon E5 2960 V2 CPU that supports AVX, but like you I was oversubscribing my CPU as I have BI with 15 cameras and running Deepstack on it was too much. The easiest way to be sure aboout AVX support is to spin up a Ubuntu VM and do docker...

Please see post # 338 on this thread. It goes over the prerequisites for Deepstack on Windows. Also, does your processor support AVX? If not you'll need to run Deepstack inside of Docker on a Linux machine using the :noavx command.

It should be able to be. AI Tool just watches a folder for snapshots that were generated by a motion event. I’m not sure if the NVR supports dropping images into a folder on a Windows machine but, at a minimum, you could have each camera do this. You could then receive alerts from AI Tool via...

I'm glad that you got it working. I'm not sure what changed from version 1.63 to 1.65. I've been running version 1.65 since I stated using AI Tool and Deepstack. @GentlePumpkin can you advise on the major differences and what may cause the newer version to not work for @sunnyhaibin ?
