Ideas or suggestions for a portable camera pole

Yeah, I guess a basketball hoop would reek of rookie in a commercial application! :) Still, looking at the tetherball sets on Amazon might give you some ideas for fabrication of a solid support. We used a wheel and tire filled with concrete growing up. Still unprofessional but covering it with...

Ideas or suggestions for a portable camera pole

How about a tetherball pole? Or a portable basketball hoop. They are light then fill with water when in place. Just remove the hoop and backboard. I frequently see these discarded.

Anyone have experience with drone cameras?

DJI is the one I looked at. I think it was dronenerds.com that I saw the $24k price. To carry herbicide, pump and spray nozzles etc, that thing must be huge!

Anyone have experience with drone cameras?

One could lose eyesight just flying up and down a river while enjoying a beer on your dock. Checking trotlines without leaving the camp! I looked at an agriculture drone for spraying crops to the tune of $24k. It would beat hiring a crop duster for relatively small plots.

Anyone have experience with drone cameras?

That link comes up as not available in my area (USA). I could see how if a drone was used with ill intent anyone in a 100km area could be suspect.

Anyone have experience with drone cameras?

Thank you! Lots of good info I will pass on and peruse. Another friend has a cabin north of Houston that he hasn't been able to check out after the hurricane. We all have IP cameras that would give us some remote viewing ability but a remote drone could let us check for roof damage as an...

Anyone have experience with drone cameras?

I have a friend that wants to get into drones and another that does professional drone photography for weddings, ads, etc. While talking to them, I started wondering that if I have a drone at one location and am generally not there, Could I fly the drone from across country without a HUGE outlay...

    EmpireTech 9th Anniversary (Summer)Sales

Andy, I just reread the lottery rules to see when numbers will be picked and it says "Use the following website for the lottery with results posted on June. 24th, fair and transparent. I will invite some guys here to pickup the winners." Did you mean July 24th?

    EmpireTech 9th Anniversary (Summer)Sales

Wow, I have the 12E. The dimensions on the LPR is 20.28" × 4.91" × 7.21" and the 12E is 10.76" × 3.74" × 3.74" So it is WAY bigger! I thought the 12E was large but a great camera. I do not even see it listed on empiretech01.com, maybe it is EOL? But at $349 it is a good deal!

    Emergency Power/Storms/Prepping etc

Wow, Glad things were mostly OK. I saw KHOU noon time broadcast and there was lots of rain and wind. I was kind of hoping it would stay way south and I would get some west of SA. But it has been sunny, hot and dry all day.

    PsychoBilly corvette

I saw psychobilly corvette (with respect where due!) while driving I-10 about the Florida-Georgia line a couple of weeks ago. I reviewed my dash camera footage and was unable to find anything. Turns out that my camera is recording in super fast speed. The corvette was painted psychedelic colors...

In-ground conduit for cam related cables

I do not see a problem running the irrigation and ethernet cable in the same conduit. I think though at that distance, the voltage drop in the irrigation cable will be excessive. I use Voltage Drop Calculator | Southwire to calculate drop. Unfortunately, they only go down to 14 gauge on the...

    Dealing with lens artifacts.

I have got an Empiretec Color4k-T that I used to try and capture the eclipse back in April. I left it pointing to the south sky. Strange camera behavior

I'm wondering if your NVR has separate power supplies for the two banks of ports? Possibly a week power supply on the second bank or exceeding your power budget on that bank. When you test the problem camera on the second bank of ports, have you unplugged all the other cameras off this side...

    Shrink-flation: Post your examples

I'm going to beat this dead horse one last time! The picture I posted must have been an HEB roll. This picture is from Costco the other day. Northern is the one on top at 4.5"x4.2. The Scott is much smaller at 4.1x3.7.

oh, yeah I remembered the post! I just pulled the old roll out of the trash and it is 4-1/2". The new one is 4". The cardboard roll was the same size though. Both were from Costco (probably). There is a lot of advertising going on about the wavy perforations. Distract you with that and you might...
