    Dahua 4G PTZ SD49425XB-HNR-G

Looks like a good one for Govt's to install in the middle of intersections to people count, ID etc etc. :)

Simply the best quality of night for a budget under 200$

Following. My understanding is that the 4mp starlight model might be the go. Looney did a review of it. OT: Have you got someone approaching from the left covered? It might be that the cam is slightly too high? Also consider external IR cross illumination in that area. That will allow you to...

Superb information! I just completely silicone sealed one of mine so will need to make a little hole in the bottom for any moisture to get out!

    H.264H vs H.265

HI guys, Newb here. I have a Dahua (OEM) 4208 NVR and 4 POE 2mp starlight cams. Which of the above codecs should I use? I get about 3 weeks of recording in my 8tb drive. Thanks heaps!

    ANy suggestions for wireless cameras?

I have a 15m HDMI cable running in my walls to hide my hdmi devices in the laundry cupboard. Only TV is visible. These are first world problems.

    ANy suggestions for wireless cameras?

I am learning something new here. Thanks for the information guys!! Keep em coming. I am interested in the solar/battery combo as well....

    ANy suggestions for wireless cameras?

@Natey2 Do you run your cameras on a battery though? Never heard of that being a practical possibility.

    ANy suggestions for wireless cameras?

Actually maybe consider a peep hole camera through your door? Do those exist?

    ANy suggestions for wireless cameras?

You'd need a massive battery! It might need to be bigger than your door perhaps... ;) Better off with one of these options. 1. Giving up on this idea. 2. Just wiring it up. :)

Also consider a wireless doorbell in that case? Might as well use it for both purposes...

POE camera with blinking red light

Hi everyone, I have one last POE port left on the front of my house. I am concerned that my Dahua 2mp starlight cameras (two already installed on front and side) are too discreet. I need a camera that is a little showy and one that has a blinking light that can be seen clearly at all times...

Wifi System with Remote access and No Subscription

I have a Dahua doorbell (wired though) from which I record the feed continuously via my NVR. But it's 1mp and pretty useless at night. I am also looking for a wifi solution for one or two of my cameras. Security is definitely relative and for me the cameras are mainly for deterrance. I have 4...

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

For pure recording purposes mainly during daytime, I think these camera(s) are excellent. I still haven't solved the IR reflections at night. Yet to test the temperature also.

Recommendations for a showy camera (maybe WIFI) or even a fake

I do wish my Dahua cameras have a blinking red light also. That would make it obvious. I am keen on the deterrence aspect of it.

Recommendations for a showy camera (maybe WIFI) or even a fake

Interesting idea but in Australia this would be illegal and would require electrician to get involved. It would probably cost $500 and I reckon running a line with a cabler might be slightly (but not significantly cheaper). Thanks for you idea though!

Recommendations for a showy camera (maybe WIFI) or even a fake

OMG those videos are hilarioius. I don't have a problem yet and I live in an extremely residential area. The front also has a gate but I don't want anyone to even think about approaching from that side. It is the most vulnerable side of the house IMO. I will look into running a line..... Could...

Recommendations for a showy camera (maybe WIFI) or even a fake

I need a showy number for deterrance for a narrow corridor on the side of my house. Ideally I may need two because there is an obstruction. This is mainly for deterrance perhaps with a blinking light all night. There are sensor lights on that side of the house but I don't want anyone to even...

Camect - New “do all” box

For a newb, I can't really understand all the tech talk. Could this box replace my Dahua NVR for Dahua IP cams? If so, does it offer me more than what I have with the Dahua? Thanks.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

I have the same problem. I think it's worse if you angle the cams too high. I will post some pics when I get the chance. Wonder why they can't mount the IR LEDs outside the dome??

    Robotic Vacuum vs PIR sensors

Thanks heaps guys. I am still getting wiring done for the alarm. I have opted for the Pet friendly Bosch Tritech PIR. So sad how the user has to research these things while the company has done nothing. I asked multiple security contractors and they didn't know either! Some of em were supposed...
