Dahua Visit at Oct.12th and 13th

Automated manufacturing certainly isn't new, but will continue to increase as robotic technologies further advance in development. Thanks for the cool pictures...it looks like they've invested a ton of $$ into their facilities.

This actually works great and it's very simple. Thanks....!!! :thumb:

Dahua NVR hdd error or not?

You didn't say if this was a second hard drive or when it was added to the NVR or it's prior use for some other purpose if any. Also make sure the drive and drive size is compatible with your NVR. Other than that, try a different cable and a different drive connector on the main-board in the NVR.

Cable - CAT 5, CAT 6 CAT 7 or CAT 8 Too many to choose for a noob

Unless you're wanting to "future proof" your network infrastructure to run 10G over copper then Cat6a shielded is really overkill. Your Cat6 cable is fine and Cat5e is okay but could limit you down the road.

Where to local buy PTZ Ceiling Mount Bracket?

Most hardware stores won't have this kind of stuff, but sometimes you can find it at places that sell video security and alarm related hardware and even then it's pot luck that they'll have what you want.

Where to local buy PTZ Ceiling Mount Bracket?

What's more critical weight wise is what surface you're mounting to and the anchors you use.

Where to local buy PTZ Ceiling Mount Bracket?

I used this one for my Sumba PTX camera but I replaced the short center with a longer length of 1-1/4" electrical pipe and painted to match. Yeah....you pretty much have to custom fabricate this stuff but it can be done and don't forget to factor in the weight it has to support...

Cable - CAT 5, CAT 6 CAT 7 or CAT 8 Too many to choose for a noob

Cat6a shielded cable is intended to run network speeds up to 10G, and the bulk cable is very stiff and hard to work with especially installing the shielded connectors.. I've found the manufactured and pre-terminated lengths of Cat6a cable are much easier to manage and are more flexible. I...

Is this a good cable for an outdoor covert camera installation?

Please see my post #17 above....no issues with grounding both ends on the same ground plane which makes the cable shielding more effective.

Cable - CAT 5, CAT 6 CAT 7 or CAT 8 Too many to choose for a noob

I hate the way Amazon manages, or rather doesn't manage their online review system because it's always screwed up.

Cable - CAT 5, CAT 6 CAT 7 or CAT 8 Too many to choose for a noob

The link shows that it's white cable and not blue, so I hope you caught that. Just a quick tip in case you don't already know this, the bulk cable should have Ft measurements marked on it every foot or two, so this makes it really easy when pulling out the specific lengths of cable you need...

impressive project .. Texas Rain Water Storage for home ..

Rainwater contains a lot of contaminants collected from the air, so I could understand using this water for irrigation but not for bathing or drinking water and before anyone says it, well water isn't the same because it gets somewhat filtered through the ground soil.

SmartPSS showing all DVR/XVR offline when they are actually online

I'm running Windows 10 and Windows 11 on two different PC systems and both intermittently have the same issue. I've also duplicated the issue on PC systems both at work and at home. I still think it's a software related bug, which is only one of many in that software application.

Is this a good cable for an outdoor covert camera installation?

If the cable shield isn't grounded on both ends then it's completely useless and just adds unnecessary cost. Shielded cable has specific applications where it is used, and correctly installed.

SmartPSS showing all DVR/XVR offline when they are actually online

SmartPSS is basically the same crappy software that the Lorex NVR uses and it really sucks because I have the same issue. I've never found a way to fix it and usually just wait awhile and it magically starts working again. I've also tried it on multiple PC's and had the same problem, so I don't...

    Should I Avoid EOL NVRs?

Just keep in mind there probably won't be any new software / firmware updates released and no end user tech support for EOL products.

Is this a good cable for an outdoor covert camera installation?

I doubt the camera itself has a shielded connector on it, so the shielded cable isn't going to be very effective without shielded connectors on both ends and a shield ground connection.

    UPS w/ Sodium Ion Batteries

The average lifespan for batteries in the APC UPS units is 2-3 years on the smaller portable units and 3-5 years on the larger rack mount units. If your building has "dirty power" or a lot of power fluctuations then the UPS will intermittently and repeatedly switch to battery mode which will...

    UPS w/ Sodium Ion Batteries

I agree.....you can't go wrong with APC. My company has hundreds if not thousands of them in various models running 24/7/365 and they've never caused any fires.
