Dahua IVS working great so far

First day and night with the IVS engaged on the IPC-T5442T-ZE on my lower rear deck and it is impressive. I have it set for human detection and made a couple tripwires. During the day it had 2 detects of "humans"... one being a large dog... outside the tripwires (I need to revisit all my...

Firmware for newer dahua cams as well as detailed specs available here

The cam I received just a few days ago is on 2.800.15OG004.0.R, Build Date: 2020-10-19. How do we know the one you reference is the correct one for this cam? Just curious so I will know what to look for. Is the 5xxx and "ZE" suffix the key identifiers? Not sure I will upgrade right away...

    Webserver not working on rebuild

Yup, it's a PITA. When I couldn't ping the BI PC from my other desktop I tried pinging the other way and was successful. That got me looking at the BI PC NIC settings. Arrrgh. Basically cost myself a whole day for basically nothing.

Trouble setting up Dahua smtp server

The count is up to 10 false alarms on shadows from the zoned BI setup, zero from the Dahua. And I walked the scene to make sure the Dahua IVS was working and it said I was a human... and sent me a picture. ;-) This is an example of the scene:

    Webserver not working on rebuild

OK, all figured out. Somehow the network on the PC running the BI server was set for "public" so it could see everything else on the LAN but not much else on the LAN could see it. Not sure how or when that happened. Maybe some big windows update? Who knows. I'm done. Sorry for the...

This is the windows network troubleshoot dialog. Nothing regarding my firewall or anything else has changed.

Trouble setting up Dahua smtp server

Meanwhile in spite of my network issues I did manage to get the SMTP to work on the Dahua. It seems like I was testing the e-mail send before I actually "added" the recipient address. I thought it would test in the entry window. But it appears not. And so far so good. I have had 2 false...

    Webserver not working on rebuild

Can't make this stuff up... so I am right back to where I was when I started this thread. I deleted the dns domain and account, restarted BI and it switched the web server ip back to the normal internal LAN ip (192.168.1.118) but it doesn't route anywhere, can't ping the NIC, nothing. The...

    Webserver not working on rebuild

Oh... it seems in going through that exercise BI changed the internal LAN ip address for the BI server. Maybe I'll try again.

    Webserver not working on rebuild

Well, I broke it again... I just couldn't leave well enough alone. I haven't had a dynamic DNS since DDNS quit providing them for free. So I decided to try NO-IP free since the Linksys router supports it. I created a domain and enabled it in the router... simple enough... BUT... now I can't...

    Webserver not working on rebuild

Well, you were correct! I checked system info and it is indeed Desktop-RUMVCJN. That is weird because I gave it a different name when I got it. But it did go to ASUS for motherboard replacement about a year and a half ago. It must have changed then... but why the called it that?? It's a...

    Webserver not working on rebuild

I know the BI windows PC name. It was just duplicated and applied to the Dahua camera in the Linksys and TP-Link network maps/lists. And I know the name of the laptop and it ain't RUMVCJN!

    Webserver not working on rebuild

Must have been something with the routing table... but it all resolved and is working perfectly again. I am back on the Linksys 3200 ACM mainly because I had difficulty with TP-Link VPN. Dead simple and easy on the Linksys. I might revisit that again sometime because I like the interface...

    Webserver not working on rebuild

LOL... and just as the ping started working UI3 started working on the other desktop. And now, bam, everything working... VPN, remote desktop, etc. The network gods were cruel but they finally smiled on me.

    Webserver not working on rebuild

But I can't even ping the host PC ip address?? And the iOS app also won't connect. Host PC IP config looks like this and seems OK to this non-pro. Edit: OK, this time ping worked. But UI3 still not finding BI.

    Webserver not working on rebuild

Yup, 192.168.1.1 gateway, no VLANS. And I have tried a few other ports. The BI host PC is wired gigabit and I can't successfully ping it from another wired PC. It just times out. Strange. I put the old router back in place and it is the same deal. I need t take another look at the NIC...

    Webserver not working on rebuild

I am deploying a new router (TP-Link A20 tri-band) and rebuilding my BI setup (still on v.4) and everything is back, except the webserver just doesn't work. The main BI server that I have running as a service works fine... the native BI software on the host PC works fine... UI3 in a browser on...

    Getting a 5442

Pretty impressed with the low light capability of this cam, It held onto color for about 30-45 minutes longer in the evening and came back to color earlier in the AM than my several year old HIK... which was already pretty darned good. Hopefully I'll get the smtp sorted so I can test the AI...

Trouble setting up Dahua smtp server

Google has been set up on less secure app for years. TLS was the default and when that didn't work I also tried SSL. I tried both protocols on both ports. It has to be something with my router blocking this stuff for some reason. But why just from these cams?

Trouble setting up Dahua smtp server

Well, there is something fishy going on for sure... My current cam fleet is the new outdoor POE Dahua, an outdoor HIK POE, an indoor Amcrest POE and 2 Amcrest wifis. I went into all of them except the HIK and none of the Amcrests or the Dahua can send test e-mails. It simply fails. I am...

Trouble setting up Dahua smtp server

Network isn't complicated or anything special. Dahua connected directly to a Linkys POE + switch which is connected to Linksys ACM 3000 router, Netgear DOCSIS 3 modem to Comcast, just like my HIKs and a couple of Amcrests. I also have a few wifi cams running. I have had all of these send...

Firmware for newer dahua cams as well as detailed specs available here

Like Kaczor47 the nearest analog to the IPC-T5442T-ZE I can find on the Dahua site is the IPC-HDW5442T-ZE but the firmware files listed for that don't look anything like what my cam reports. My cam also reports that I am on the most recent, dated 10-19-2020, but I am highly skeptical that is...

Trouble setting up Dahua smtp server

Nope, not blocking anything. Neither 587 nor 465 works. My BI setup has been using Gmail on 465 for years and I get multiple e-mails per day.

Firmware for newer dahua cams as well as detailed specs available here

Did you ever get an answer or do this? I just got one of these and it can't even send e-mail. LOL. Maybe I'll try to update the firmware if I can find the correct one. Or else just return it.

I just made a Yahoo e-mail account and that doesn't work, either. Seriously, as I the only one here having this issue?

Trouble setting up Dahua smtp server

OK, small correction. The camera does let me save the smtp configurations. It just won't send e-mails of any sort. The test function fails every time. LOL... Even my 15 year old Axis and every cheap FOSCAM could easily send email. I guess I'll have to abandon the AI for now and set up my...

Trouble setting up Dahua smtp server

Just making some tripwires and wanting e-mail alerts but the Dahua e-mail setup will not accept either my gmail nor xfinity settings... says "sender format error"?? Same exact information I use everywhere else, including in the Blue Iris e-mail server. What am I missing?

    Getting a 5442

I went ahead and swapped it in. Running totally default for now except I changed the video resolution to 1080P. Not sure if my older PC can keep up with all the new megapixels. Something else to look at... Really easy since the old HIK waterproof connector was identical so I didn't even...

    Getting a 5442

Oh, in network settings... Yes PnP... the popup said P2P and had me confused. BTW, initial impressions: Cam seems like a really solid piece of hardware. And I love the interface, very clean and responsive. Picture also looks great. I may go ahead and swap it in for the old HIK today if I can...
