    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

Bummer. Though it seems to me there's room for + - buttons on the bar with the schedule and current camera area. Just sayin' :)

I have to agree. Cat5/6 is easy to tuck into crevices and becomes almost invisible.

Spiders? Naw, never see em.

CPU usage went from 65-70% to 95-100% after upgrade to 4.09.12

Yeah, frame rate is hard to find on those. I think it's buried in the config somewhere in the stream settings.

What kind of camera? Also tweaking the I frame setting can get rid of the ghosting with direct to disk.

Just went from .07 to 0.8.2 Nice work. Thanks so much for your continuing efforts on this, really enhances Blue Iris!

[/LIST] I love the zoom feature. This may be a dumb question, is there an equivalent for non-wheel mice or laptop trackpads?

Blue iris video is not smooth

TS, terminal server? I'd suggest having him watch it via a web browser, see if that's smoother.

What style drywall anchors are best?

I use yellow plastic anchors and #8 screws for EVERYTHING around the house. Unless it's something really heavy, or really small artwork which gets a small hook or nail. Some of the ones posted here seem like overkill for a small IP camera.

    Noob set up question

True, I did look at that. Where it's going there will only ever be 2 cams. JUst wanted something cheap to run 2 cams that are a fair distance away from my main POE switch, and only wanted to run 1 cable to 'em.

    Noob set up question

Some NVRs do POE, so that's possible. I just got one of these for under my deck where I'm going to have 2 cameras. http://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-8-Port-100Mbps-Switch-TPE-S44/dp/B000QYEN1W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1433810614&sr=8-2&keywords=trendnet+poe

How to setup cam for garage lighting

I have a cheap really old 4xem camera in my garage, and it handles it reasonably well. As long as there's an auto-iris it should be able to handle changing light conditions. My Hiks (3 on temporary mouse patrol) in the garage handle it very well.

    Noob set up question

If you're not plugging in to a POE (power over ethernet) hub, then yes You'll need a power source for the camera. Probaly 12v, but check the manual. Edit: an alternative to a POE switch is a POE injector, it will act like a POE switch and give the camera power. But if you have more than one...

Performance with 10 cameras on one computer running blue iris

I am. Mrs. Penguin will sh err freak if any find their way into the house. So far the score is me: 14 trapped, neighbors cat: 4 (delivered to the cat's owner, maybe more delivered elsewhere or eaten) Not sure where they came from, have never had a problem before, may have come with the new...

Performance with 10 cameras on one computer running blue iris

Oops, missed the 3mp in the original post, so yes I agree his results at 3mp may be much different. That said, I think 720p@10fps is pretty good quality, and a good compromise between quality/performance/storage. Right now I have 3 2032s dedicated to mouse detection (I think I may be winning...

Tell us about your home automation!

Maybe I'm getting older, but after returning home 1 block into my drive to work in the morning to do a "drive-by" to check that I really DID close the garage door. Then sitting on the couch at 8PM to have Mrs. Penguin come home and say "Why is the garage door open. Again?" I decided it was...

+1 for Openmediavault, really solid product. It's been a a while but last time I looked at Freenas its SMB performance was really bad (FreeBSD problem I think) It may have been resolved by now.

A "nice to have" feature: In the standard BI web interface, in the clips area, if I down-arrow through the list of clips, each clip starts playing as I scroll through them. In yours, it scrolls through, highlights, but doesn't change which clip is playing unless I click on one. I've become used...

    Sricam AP004 WIFI Problems.

My standard answer to wireless problems is, plug it in. That said, are you sure you used the proper security type (WPA PSK, WPA2-PSK etc) and the correct passphrase? The camera needs to be set the same as the access point (router) is set.
