    DS-2CD2145F-IS V5.3.3 4MP dome Out

If the camera is marked with 5.3.5 you should be able to use the 5.3.5 firmware posted elsewhere on this forum (sorry not have link) with TFTP. If works camera will be Chinese language but at least it will work :)

Regional Firmware, Dealer Exclusivity, Warranty Woes

I agree. I like Hikvision cameras I think on the hole they make good products. But the markup for cameras sold outside of China (often over 100% in the UK) is absurd and efforts to control the markets is only hurting them. I will still buy them but only imported at a good price, not upgrade...

    DS-2CD2432F-IW V5.3.0 build 150513 + Linux

You could also try their demo application using their SDK - I think that compiles on linux also though I've never bothered.

who sells full english NOT hacked english hik cams?? 2335 or what ever.?

Are you an authorised Hikvision distributor? If not then they might not provide support in the event of problems. If you are then I'd recommend they add you to their distributors list on their website.

Coffee - probably the best technical advice given on this forum I've ever seen. Works wonders :P

Well done for finding the problem - and giving clear updates on what happened! Good man :)

    Loose access to 2CD2145F

Anything change on the camera just before it stopped working? If SADP can see it maybe try a full port scan?

    Loose access to 2CD2145F

    Does it show in SADP?

New DS-2CD2335 camera with 5.3.3 firmware recovery?

I guess you already tried your password with CAPS lock on just in case it was accidentally on when you set your new password.

New DS-2CD2335 camera with 5.3.3 firmware recovery?

Someone said USA Tech support sometimes are sometimes more helpful. I've not tried that. You could try 5.3.5 Chinese which should be accepted - but I don't think it resets the password. The firmware link is on here somewhere. Don't bother with versions earlier than 5.3.5 if you camera came...

New DS-2CD2335 camera with 5.3.3 firmware recovery?

Yeah China is on holiday right now I think for like another week? They might be able to help when they get back as of course they are already in China and can ask Hikvision for 2xx5 reset. I don't think TFTP resets passwords on 2xx5s anyway. Ignore the MTD stuff - that's for 2xx2 cameras...

    CCCH Hikvisions

It's normally good practice to keep the firmware updated - big fixes, feature improvements and security fixes (this is a potentially Internet connected device after all). It's just a shame Hikvision have put so much effort in the last year or more into market control measures rather than the...

    Dowgrade firmware v5.3.6

When you talk about 5.2.0 and 5.2.5 I would guess you are talking about 2xx2 cameras which are not the same as these 2xx5 Does video work on the 2xx5 if you use an ONVIF application on the PC ok?

    A linux ONVIF app?

    Hikvision TFTP server tool.

At the end of the day if you've flashed the camera with 5.3.5 and it's accepted it (which it sounds like it did given the SADP reported fw version changed), and it still doesn't work then I think it is return it to seller time.

Can you ping the camera? If SADP sees it then a port must be open even if nmap said it isn't.

    firmware language mismatch question

You mean there's some kind of language problem on your Hikvision camera after you've changed the firmware? Sorry never heard of this before. Could try searching the board maybe - long shot but worth a try.

    Hikvision TFTP server tool.

Normally when you connect to the camera it will ask you to download webcomponents.exe and install (it's a web browser plugin) Obviously if you've wiped your PC and you can't get on the camera again then you won't be able to do it.

    Hikvision TFTP server tool.

It depends what you mean no danger. You can never say it's impossible but given most of these cameras would be using a switch it would only see broadcast traffic not traffic from say your PC to Internet or NAS device. And phoning home can't be hidden from someone monitoring their Internet...

    Hikvision TFTP server tool.

They bypassed the security stopping modified firmware being accepted by the camera (totally different to accessing your camera without password etc). As they are Chinese I think they might have a leaked RSA key but that's a guess.

    Hikvision TFTP server tool.

If the camera is 5.3.5 150925 from the factory you need at least that to TFTP upgrade (unless you are a Chinese hacker it seems). Don't bother with earlier versions they won't work.

    Hikvision TFTP server tool.

OK run Wireshark and SADP at same time - should be traffic to and from camera showing ports alastair is right - this is hacked firmware to enable other languages. Hikvision don't make English firmware for this camera on purpose because they like to control the markets and charge more...

    Hikvision TFTP server tool.

I saw it but sorry don't have the link handy. There seems to be a strong view that 2xx5 and 3xx5 are different inside - I really don't think they are. The casing and associated IP rating are different - but everything else (including WDR) are the same in my experience despite anything said on...

    Hikvision TFTP server tool.

No worries mate - much better this time! :) Totally reasonable I just wanted to let you know this is unlikely but of course keep an open mind. Agreed - but it's normal. So just be aware a camera by default will do this. Never seen this on a 2xx5 camera which has much higher security on it...

    Hikvision TFTP server tool.

These cameras are computers so of course the possibility exists for malware. I've never seen any though from all my aliexpress cams and it doesn't sound like it would be in the sellers interest, though I've never bought from ebay. When you say dodgy network traffic what do you mean? Cameras...

Hikvision FIRMWARE TOOLS - change language, extract files and create own firmware

Even if that is the case, I guess maybe best not to post publicly anyway (not saying you were going to) as Hikvision would just stop whatever works and there's no point in us telling them.
