@spammenotinoz Indeed you have expressed your opinion many times. With respect my post was addressed to @columbusgeek!

The trigger tab is included in that post, can you clarify your request and what you wish to achieve?

I'm intrigued by your comment. Can you share your reasoning for recording static video. Are you inferring that capturing video 30 seconds before an event along with the WHOLE event being recorded is in some way inferior to recording continously. Is it a legal requirement in your country?

Your welcome, I have been a proponent of Clone mode from the start of this project. It's disappointing that the BI developer will not give an option to only record on external trigger as we would then no longer need a cloned camera.

Yes, just setup clones for your cameras and configure accordingly. It will then only record if AITOOL recognises something you have listed. I use clone mode as I have no wish to capture video of false alerts.

Just a guess, are you sure your downloading the correct files? I suspect you have downloaded the files required to build the application. If you want application files already built you need to download them from the vorlonCD released section.

That's great news and thanks for the heads up on the comma/period issue. I was not aware of that.

The deepstack start up has nothing to do with aitool. It should start up automatically if it is installed correctly. Deepstack runs pretty much the same as it did with old v1.67. I can switch back and forth between both new and old versions of aitool without making any changes to the docker /...

I am using docker with latest version aitool. I suspect you may simply have a port issue. Check your ports are not in use by other apps and that you can reach deepstack manually. Docker will work just fine with the original release as well. That said I highly recommend you run with the latest...

As I recall there was an issue with an old version of aitool that did not update history. Make sure you are using the latest version. Your issue with "aitool is already running" is normal when you operate aitool as a service. The only way I know of to resolve this is to have aitool start...

I do not see any reason why not but as I mentioned my experience of recording 7 x 24 is non existent so as they say 'your mileage may vary' ;)

If you do not have the "Record Dual-Streams if Available" option it's possible that your BI software is in need of updating, 5.3.9.6 is the version I am currently running date 10th Feb 2021. My setup is as you know based on using a cloned camera, the main camera is used to generate the high...

3-4 seconds is a reasonable capture rate setting. The fact that aitool recognises a person is indicative of an issue of confidence of image, cooldown setting or perhaps command syntax. This is my command syntax that works reliably for me...

@seth-feinberg Here are the setup images for one of my system cameras and the last image is simply changed to show continuous recording. I suspect you may need to disable the HD stream if you find the continuous recording is in HD resolution. As configured the camera will monitor in SD (NOT...

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Your first logical camera will serve as the SD stream and trigger an HD captured image for aitool. The second logical camera will receive the command from Aitool and only needs to be configured for your 4K stream. I will try and post the setup for the first logical unit later as it is a little...

Second thoughts, since you will need to review both SD and HD streams you will need to have both displayed to gain access.

Hiding the camera does not effect it's operation within BI, however since you are effectively storing data at two different locations on disk they will need to be referred to individually. One directory for continous SD and one for the trigerred HD. Please bear in mind I have personally never...

At this time it would be a challenge for most people to successfully use this app for face detection. Currently it is not plug n play for that purpose.

Why not setup one camera first and leave the others until you have it working, just a thought. The order you make the changes is not really important as long as you accept you will not be capturing video during the process of changing the configuration. Once you have the clone configuration...

Just select Add New Camera and choose Copy From Another Camera and select the camera you wish to clone from the drop down box. Then you choose which one you want to be the master. You will probably need to select direct to disk recording! I seem to remember a good while back that not...

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

@seth-feinberg Lets see if I can clarify CLONE operation. Blue Iris has an option for each camera connected that enables it to be cloned by selecting a box in the configuration of the cloned camera NOT to be confused with the master. A clone is made by simply copying a camera configuration...

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

@CAL7 I can confirm that you are not using a cloned camera configuration. A cloned camera configuration is required if you want to record events that are ONLY triggered via AITOOL. Presently you are recording 24 x 7 so cloning makes no sense for you unless you wish to change your configuration...

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

@spammenotinoz Respectfully you omit to mention the need for mirrored or RAID storage configurations which will be essential if you wish to record 7 x 24 reliably not to mention the waste of power. Judging from your long post I appear to have touched a nerve! Are you defending the developers...

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

    1. No it is not required to continuously record. 2. If you ONLY want to record when AITool recognises something of interest you need to operate with a cloned camera configuration. The reason for this is that BI does not have an option to only record when externally triggered. I have asked the...

Docker is IMHO the best implementation for Windows. It has the advantage of being able to run newer Deepstack versions that have not released as a Windows app. Can't advise on performance as I never made a comparison.

I suspect that you are referring to what is sometimes called Patrol mode. BI has no way to know when the camera will move and will trigger as the lens moves. I guess aitool will simply do it's best to capture the events you are looking for.
