Yes you are correct, the power needs to be processed. there are add-on boards which are priced fairly reasonably like the one below. On my version of this board, I have connected a microphone for audio-input and it works great! I can post pictures if anybody is interested in seeing how I did it...- lojix

That is a pretty bad image. I wouldn't advise camera's of this quality to be used for any serious application where the image may be relied on. Give it a go first, you could always still get the installer to come in if you hit a road block, its a great way to get to know your home a little more intimately :D -

DYDNS was the undisputed first choice in dynamic DNS :encouragement: but that was before they scrapped the five free hosts. Lots of people were upset about it, and NoIP took advantage of the opportunity. I have never really used NoIP myself and would prefer not to. For a few dollars per year... -

That must be very convenient for some things, I haven't come across a dynamic service that remains static for any lengthy period of time. In my experience, most ISP DHCP servers will issue a new IP address to the connecting device as soon as a connection is initiated. In other words, every time... -

My reason for suggesting the DDNS service, is it could become a little difficult keeping track of the external IP. Especially if it is updated while needing to access it external to the network. -

Do you have a statically assigned IP address or is it dynamic? ...You may need to call Comcast to find out. If you have a Dynamic IP address you can use a service like NoIP to assign a domain name to your dynamic IP address. This will allow you to always connect to your external gateway... -

This is probably a setting in the camera parameters. The settings will dramatically alter image quality/color, so play around with them. Although I did mess around with mine, all the image/colour settings were optimal out of the box. You could check your against mine below, and you can see...- lojix
