hi, if your cable modem is acting as a router this may cause an issue with double NAT, your cable to linksys modem should have been setup in bridge mode. ( Google the cable router make and model along with using my own router) i would need allot more information to workout how you network is... -

need some advice for VPN/VLAN setup.
after a quick look you router dose not support vlans (there are some posts on the netear forums that suggest this may/have changed ) so all though your switch can create vlans you have no way to route traffic across the vlans- copex

Vlan question
depends on your set up, some NVRs have two lans one from the cameras and one for remote access, if you are planing to use a PC NVR then i would install two network card so you could keep the cameras on there own network if the the cameras have to be on the same network you could use a vlan but...- copex

glad to here you got it working, all i had to do on the NVR is manually add a camera set it to onvif with the username and password leaving the port at 80 and it connected.- copex

Cable distance
100 meters end to end, if you need to go overs the 100 meters you have to use a switch then run the next 100 meters :-) its the specs of the cable not the camera or NVR though like anything you could exceeded the recommended specification and have no issues..... -
