without the resistor. you only need the load resistor if no chime is been used you wife would create an hik connect account and you can then share the door bell to her account, the software dose not use telephone number it pushes a notification via ip so you could leave both phone on one account. -

connect the chime on the return with out the hik doorbell supplied resistor in line, so 1 to hik doorbell then hik doorbell to chime then chime to 4. i would also meter the output on the powersupply to see what the actual output voltage is. -

British General supply quotes 24V at 0.333A the hikvision requires 0.6A so it may cause issues, with VAC you get more tolerances, so the chime i have is 8vac and when you press the door bell it gets hit with 20vac and it works fine. -

its 8vac on there webpage but as it was cheep i'm overdriving it with 18vac (20vac on the mulitiymetter), with VAC there has to be tolerances in place as in the uk the Mains voltage is 240vac but it can be as low a 216vac or as high as 253vac +/- so for example a 12vac supply could output 10vac... -

hi the chime works fine, i never fitted the device as it was to buggy its sat on the bench, the last software update fix a few issues but it still need work, to me it seems like it was rushed to market :-) at this point in time its not a product i could recommend. -

Sky Uk dose not block VPNS on there network, it may be an issue with sky shield, have a look at the sky community forums there are a few posts on vpns been blocked- copex

2 switches 1 router
i would move the BI server on to the same switch as the cameras, this would be more to reduce point of failure, then if the router fails the cameras will still be recorded. if the switches have up link ports the use the up link ports on the two 24 port switches, if not the connecting switch to...- copex
