Not getting the pre-trigger frames included in the clips

Okay, cool. I'll keep an eye on the recordings just to be certain that this wasn't a one-off situation.

Not getting the pre-trigger frames included in the clips

So I *did* get the iframe thing fixed. But, it looks like I DO have the capture mode enabled on the outdoor camera (not on the indoor one though). How exactly does this capture mode function work? Do I need it? Want it? [EDIT] Looks like removing the capture mode may have done the trick...

    h.264+ vs HA+VPP ?

Thanks, guys! I have the bandwidth and and the networking equipment to handle everything. I'd rather take a hit because I'm trying to get better image quality...so it sounds like another PLUS for simply disabling it.

Not getting the pre-trigger frames included in the clips

Just had another car roll up in the driveway while I was monitoring BI. According to BI, it was recording while the car was entering the driveway, all the way to the point that the driver walked to the front door. Afterwards, viewing the clip, it shows the recording STARTING at the point that...

    h.264+ vs HA+VPP ?

Noticed that enabling h.264+ on my 2342 brought bandwidth down from 730-820kB/s to 10-80kB/s. I think I need to disable this though when using the HA+VPP option though, right?

    How is 4.3.2.0 So Far?

For anyone that might want to try and see if they can replicate this....I was also having the issue with the black screen going from Yes (no VPP) to Yes +VPP. Odd though was that this was only happening to one of my two cameras. What I did though was to enable VPP in the Options->Cameras...

Updated to 4.3.2.5 - CPU running about 15C hotter now??

Hmmm..okay, temps are somewhat back to normal again. Didn't change anything though. Went from whatever version was just prior to 4.3.2.5.

Updated to 4.3.2.5 - CPU running about 15C hotter now??

Just did an update. CPU used to sit consistenly at about 50C. Now sitting consistently at 65-66C. Didn't change anything else. No CPU process hoggers listed. Everything looks normal and like it always has.

Not getting the pre-trigger frames included in the clips

Okay...pretrigger set to 30. The outdoor camera is a 2CD2342WD-I Disabled h264+ on the 2342 and now the iframe field is un-greyed out. Set it to 15. The other camera is already set to 15. So now everything matches.

Not getting the pre-trigger frames included in the clips

Looking in the camera's UI, it's set for 15fps (iframe is greyed out and shows 50). In BI, the camera is set to 20fps...so looks like I need to correct that. :) I am using D2D.

Not getting the pre-trigger frames included in the clips

I have the camera configured, as far as I can tell, with 10 pre-frames. But frequently when I view recorded clips, I can see where not only were the 'pre' clips not recorded, but what should be the *start* of the movement was not even recorded. Example, car coming home and pulling into...

Weird Short Clips recorded (when it says they're longer)

Still getting used to BI, so working through things... Something I've been seeing pretty frequently when I go back and view existing recorded clips are clips that when played appear to only be about 1/2 second long. BUT....according to the clip metadata, they're actually much longer (e.g...

    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

Thanks for the reply! I made the change. Now, I'm simply seeing the two camera Live View windows (which are static). No buttons or hyperlinks. Just the two camera views. [EDIT] It's working in Chrome now!!!!

    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

For whatever reason, I cannot even reach the BI server if attempting to use a device that's coming from the internal LAN. So...fired up the VPN. Got the login...and the UI looks correct now. So the $64K question. Why does the UI look like it does from my phone? (Both Chrome and Firefox)

ruppmeister: Sorry...edited my last comment apparently while you were replying. I can login now, but not sure if I'm seeing exactly what I should be seeing. See my description in the previous entry for what I'm looking at now.

    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

skarr: I am paying attention. I've tried half a dozen times on different browsers on my phone to navigate to: http://public_IP:1234/ui2.htm It's just bringing me to what I believe is the BI login screen. Comparing the screen for the original login.htm to the new one, it *is* showing the new...

    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

Okay...tried it. No go. Should I need to make any modifications to the Web Server tab in BI? If I use a browser on my phone like this: http://IP_address:1234 It brings me to a BI login page. Something about the ui2.htm setup isn't working.

    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

Okay...so, I'm trying this on both my phone and PC. http://public_IP/ui2.htm:8443 (this is normally URL formatting - port number at the end) First thing....it automatically migrates me to a secure https connection. After that, I just get a 404 message. Happens on both the phone and the PC.

    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

Not sure how to add the ui2.htm entry. Dumb question, but do we make this URL modification within the BI mobile app or is this intended to be for use with just a mobile browser page? After copying all of the files into the www folder and restarting BI: I tried opening a browser page to...

New 2342 cam installed - working - then 8 hrs later no preview/Live View

Good info. appreciate it. Along the same lines, what should I set the 'average' bitrate at? I have the bandwidth available....so not worried about that. big priority is getting excellent IQ

Recorded clips sometimes show motion video othertimes are simply a snapshot. Why?

I've just installed my first outdoor camera (Hik 2342) and am noticing that sometimes triggers (cars passing by) result in video footage and other times just still image shots. i'm guessing I have a configuration setting somewhere that is causing this...but no idea what it is.

New 2342 cam installed - working - then 8 hrs later no preview/Live View

So I got my 2nd Hikvision camera installed finally (2342) and connected to BI. Everything working great. This was at about 10pm. Next morning, I go to check on things and find that there's no video (BI says No Signal). So I check to see if I can log into the camera directly. I can. No video...

Configure BI to record to external USB drive?

This *shouldn't* be that difficult to figure out...:grumpy: I just want to specify a USB drive as the recording destination. The only place I can see where maybe this is done is on the Camera Properties tab, on the record tab, in the Video/Folder section. But, even then, it's not intuitively...

Front Porch Camera ideas - MP, Placement, style, etc

Appreciate the quick feedback on this! Here's an image of what the porch layout looks like. Hopefully this will help. Based on what seems like a narrow FOV, I'd want a 4mm or 6mm. I don't necessarily need 90 degrees in this case, but that seems to be the most common recommendation for front...

Front Porch Camera ideas - MP, Placement, style, etc

First outdoor camera for me. Starting with covering the front porch area. Couple of questions I'm hoping I can get some specific response for. I've been searching for a couple of hours, but the responses are ALL OVER THE PLACE and I'm having a hard time being able to form any real conclusions...
