Needing to build New (upgraded) BI system for more cams

Won't be needed until about Feb next year. Forgot to mention that I'll likely be running the cams at 15FPS and have motion detection. If I stay with Ivy Bridge, looks like the highest I can go and still get Quick Sync is the 3770K. Is that even enough for the load I'm expecting?

Needing to build New (upgraded) BI system for more cams

Currently just running 4 cams on my 3770S system. Building new house and am estimating about 9-10 Starlight 2MP cams. Trying to figure out if I should upgrade the old Ivy Bridge 3770S or build something a little newer....and if so, what would be an adequate CPU to handle the load (D2D enabled)...

What camera models do you want added to the IPVM Calculator?

Thanks again, John! Those two cams appear to be pretty popular on these forums so I'm actually surprised that this hadn't come up before now. This will certainly benefit others using IPVM!

What camera models do you want added to the IPVM Calculator?

It looks like you IPVM already includes Dahua, but not the specific model that I'm wanting. How do I make a formal request for this? The model is the IPC-HDW5231R-Z

Pre-trigger Video Buffer doesn't seem to be working

I've got it working now. The buffered recording is also working on the other cameras that I didn't delete/re-add. I think what fixed it had something to do with one of the settings in the Record tab. I think it might have been the unchecking of the "Combine or cut video each" option. I'd try...

Pre-trigger Video Buffer doesn't seem to be working

I'm positive. Like I mentioned, in that screenshot, that is at the VERY beginning of the recorded clip. It's not at the end of the previous recorded clip either. Not sure what you mean by" view the clip through the software itself". Looking at a clip on my phone using the app, it's doing the...

Pre-trigger Video Buffer doesn't seem to be working

The position at where the BI triggers the recording to start I can deal with....which was by using the pre-buffer when it triggers later than I'd like. But if pre-buffer recording isn't working, then I have an issue. Totally understand all the different variables involved in when BI will...

Pre-trigger Video Buffer doesn't seem to be working

High Resolution option unchecked. No difference. In attached image. The white truck is travelling from right to left. Where the truck is in the image is where BI *started* recording this clip. This is fairly typical for triggering point. Sometimes, it doesn't start until a vehicle is in the...

Pre-trigger Video Buffer doesn't seem to be working

I've since unchecked the Zone setup. So no Zone usage now. I've also changed from Gaussian to Simple. I've had the camera trigger a couple of times since making these changes and I'm not seeing any change in behavior. There's still no inclusion of a pre-trigger buffer.

Pre-trigger Video Buffer doesn't seem to be working

Okay...for settings, just want any recording and trigger based? Or literally ALL settings? What do you mean by "standard algorithm" ?

Pre-trigger Video Buffer doesn't seem to be working

Yes, Profile1 is being used throughout. The Motion settings are in the linked image in my original post (having issues with including images in these post for some reason)

Pre-trigger Video Buffer doesn't seem to be working

You beat me to it. Was just about to edit my post to include that all cameras are set so that the i-Frame and fps are the same. More images of settings: Dropbox - BI-Record.png[/IMG]

Pre-trigger Video Buffer doesn't seem to be working

4.5.9.8 system Not sure what the issue is, but BI is NOT pre-recording. Here's some images of my settings: Dropbox - BI-Trigger.png [/IMG] The pre-trigger value is set to 10sec. Even though I have Zones for non-detection setup, I've tried disabling that anyway and it doesn't make any...

    Front door - what lens?

What is that??? (Vendor/model) Is it an IP camera? Price?

    Front door - what lens?

Any recommendations for the lens for a front door cam? (2.8, 4, 6, etc) This cam would be primarily for seeing walk-up, package drop-off. Want to make sure I get good image of faces too. Should I avoid 2.8mm for this application? If I should, then the issue I have is that most cameras I see...

    2cd2342 power supply requirements

Nope...sorry. You don't understand some basics of electronics. The power available isn't 'forced' onto the device. Only the voltage is. The current can be thought of as a 'capacity'. All 12V will be forced and the the power supply will deliver as much current as the device needs (assuming it...

    2342 - New 5.4.1 firmware

Okay...so nothing earth shattering about this then... It appears to work fine. Wish I could get ahold of the actual file so I could upgrade my other 2342 (currently running 5.3.8).

    2cd2342 power supply requirements

The specs simply state .3af power (min 12.95W delivered to the device). This ends up equating to a hair over 1A (given 12V adapter). But...just because the spec calls for .3af power, it doesn't mean that it actually will use all that .3af can deliver. It's possible that the 12V 900mA adapter...

    2342 - New 5.4.1 firmware

Sort of new to all this, but based on the fact that it came in a red/white box, has WR in the serial, and does NOT have a UL stamp (has CE), I'm assuming that this means it's an International region camera.

    2342 - New 5.4.1 firmware

Was just setting up my new 2342 and noticed that it came preloaded with 5.4.1 code. I don't even see this version on any of the firmware download sites....only 5.4.0 still. Anyone know anything about it?

New 2432F-IW Cube: Wireless won't connect

In the WIFI table in the GUI of the camera, there's a Connection Status column. All the listed WLANs are shown as disconnected. Must be a bug though because even now when I'm logged in via the camera's wifi connection, it *still* shows all connections as disconnected.

New 2432F-IW Cube: Wireless won't connect [Resolved] Just got a 2nd 2432 (retail box). Came loaded with 5.4.0, so cannot downgrade as part of any testing. Wondering if anyone has seen or heard of any issues with these wireless cams not associating. It does find my WLANs and list them in the...

    HIKVISION mtd Brick Recovery Guide

Really appreciate the help in getting my camera back up again! After seeing some comments about the 5.4.0 release, I think I'll hold off for now...at least until a 5.4.1 is released. :peaceful:

So grab one of those firmwares from the HK site you listed and use that with the tftpserv tool? There's two different versions of the 5.3.6 code. Any reason I should choose one over the other? Looking at it now, I'm nearly 100% sure that the 5.3.6 code that is build 151105 is the one that was...

    HIKVISION mtd Brick Recovery Guide

Unsure which label you're referring to. Is this a label that it physically on the camera somewhere...or on the box it came in. I don't recall ever upgrading the firmware since I've had the camera...which is only for a couple of months now. So if 5.3.6 is the firmware that it came with, what do...
