Seeing double - New Dahua dual Starlight IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M/M12

I'd be interested in a 3.6, or maybe more likely a 6mm too. But....is this model even available in a 6mm? I seem to recall that not showing up as an option on the website. On the Dahua website, listing the features: 2.8mm fixed lens (3.6mm optional)

Seeing double - New Dahua dual Starlight IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M/M12

Yep...hopefully pronto. Eager to also learn if the two camera images are integrated into a single stream 'view' as well...or if each camera is treated totally independently.

Seeing double - New Dahua dual Starlight IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M/M12

There no technical reason why it couldn't behave like 2 cameras. It's not as if 1 of the cameras will saturate the network cable. If they are somehow combined, that would be..... weird.

    smtp notification on camera

If the FQDN wasn't working but the IP address did then it sounds like you didn't have DNS setup.

Any Dahua ipcam that supports 5GHz wifi?

Guys...sometimes it's just not possible or practical to run cables for a camera (at least for a home environment). My previous residence required me to run two cams using wifi. Can wifi be jammed/DOS'd? Sure. But my thought is that if someone is going to that much trouble, there's not a lot...

    smtp notification on camera

The issue I had was due to the fact that I'm using 2FA (two factor authentication) with my gmail. These cameras/BI/etc don't support 2FA....so gmail has a way to allow apps on devices to sign in...even though they don't support 2FA. Do a Google/gmail search for gmail sign in using app...

Thinking about it now, a 4:3 would certainly help. In the meantime, someone needs to take my money and give me one of these, pronto.

Just happened to be messing with my front door 4231 trying to tweak the aim a little better. Just can't find a good aim compromise for packages on ground vs. face in front of door. I really NEED one of these...

    Make Time Question

    Thank you, sir!

    Make Time Question

To have an action qualify for the Make Time, does BI simply need to see that a change occurred and that the changed pixels remain 'changed' for the amount of Make Time? (Example, if some stationary object were moved and it took less than the Make Time to move the object, and once it was done...

Best dahua PTZ for covered porch + positioning advice needed

Or like some of us that are waiting for this beauty... For me, solves the issue being able to aim and configure light settings for visitors...but also allows me to perfectly setup for different lighting to monitor for packages down low in front of the door. IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M/M12

Seeing double - New Dahua dual Starlight IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M/M12

Okay....I definitely want one of these! Perfect for my front door situation. (To see faces coming towards the door, I can't see the ground in front of the door where packages are left - this would certainly fix that!)

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Sorry for quoting all of this, but it's relevant. I just got my first 5231 installed yesterday. Everything appears to be working except that I don't seem to be getting the ONVIF return information shown in this example. I've verified that the ONVIF account is using the same password as the...

    smtp notification on camera

Never mind. Got it figured out. Dumb copy/paste issue from gmail to the cam GUI for the token/password. Had to hand-type it in and now works.

    smtp notification on camera

Trying to get smtp notifications working on one camera (for face recognition testing). This is using gmail, of which I have two other systems currently using gmail to send emails...so I know it works. As far as I can tell, it's all setup properly. I've added the device in the google security...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Okay...user error. I just HAPPENED to be working with the *1* camera that I had previously partially setup (forgot about it)....which included assigning my own custom password.

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Just received some 5231's and 4231's from Andy...problem though - none of the default login credentials are working though. What *should* they be?

Quick Question...why would one ever need/want a PTZ?

Now auto-tracking would certainly be cool! If that actually worked really well and the camera didn't cost a bazillion dollars, I'd be interested in having probably one.

Quick Question...why would one ever need/want a PTZ?

I'm not in the market for one...but it just occurred to me. What would be a use-case scenario for an outdoor PTZ camera? (not including commercial applications here) In my mind, the cameras are sending their stream back to a recording system. If there is a trigger, the clips are stored and...

    Thanks for confirming!

HDBW4231F-AS mounted to standard 1-gang box?

I'll be needing to mount a HDBW4231F-AS next to the front door side wall, which is brick and has 1-Gang outlet box installed for the camera, which sits flush with the brick. This outlet box is where the network cable comes out. I don't see any available mounting solutions on the Dahua site for...

Camera live view not showing in Live View Main window

Never mind. Fixed it. Somehow....the camera live window was appearing OUTSIDE of BI...by itself. ???? Closed it and then that camera's window began properly appearing within BI again. No idea if this is a feature that I inadvertently activated or what. Very odd...just came back and see that...

Needing to build New (upgraded) BI system for more cams

Fenderman, just to be clear, this is regards to a 9-10 2MP cam setup. I can't quite tell if you're indicating that you think the current system is fine for my existing 4 cam setup or the soon-to-be 9-10 setup.
