Initial review of the DS-2CD2347G2-L(U) ColorVu 2.0 IP camera.

I am having some issues configuring my 2CD2347G2-LU and hoping someone can lend some advice. Trying to replace an old 2CD2335FWD-I which is running in "Portrait" mode (ie. 90degree rotated). I have Line Crossing and Intrusion Detection configured. When bench testing the 2CD2347G2 Gen2...

Can I get the state of a camera output (used for holding a gate open) and then CURL a command to close it?

Some degree of programmable automation of external devices from a Hikvision NVR is something I'd dearly like to see in some future release. My lack of programming skill led me to use some readily available off the shelf hardware to do some simple home automation. In my case I used Tuya Smart...

Your welcome. Unfortunately I can't give you any advice on why you cant' import video into Adobe Premiere.

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

I believe what you are seeing here is the result of differing FOV caused by different image sensors in each camera, albeit both using the same lens. The resolving power of a camera comes down to the lens selection and the image sensor size and resolution which are in fact different in your...

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

Looks like the latest G3 firmware for the 2CD2XX6G2 has been pulled by Hikvision. The firmware no longer appears on Hikvision's download portals.

Attached is the Hikvision Technical Note explaining the configuration and usage of Live-Guard for those interested.

What is Hikvision "Live-Guard" and is anyone using it?

OK. Answering my own question. It turns out "Live-Guard" is a new feature to be introduced in an up coming firmware release. The firmware posted on the vendor site was beta firmware. Notes indicated it was due for release around the end of Jan 2021 so can probably expect to see it introduced...

What is Hikvision "Live-Guard" and is anyone using it?

I came across a security products supplier selling Hikvision systems having a link to instructions and firmware for setting up Hikvision "Live Guard" using a 2CD23xxG2 camera and 76XXNI/I2-XP NVR. The instructions seem to show additional functions in the Hi-Connect mobile app that are exposed...

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

Installed the latest G3 firmware for my 2CD2836G2. Noticed zero differences from the previous firmware. The motion detection polygon still reverts to a rectangle when restarting the cam. At least I've found no new bugs.

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

I had this problem (ie. moving images tearing, freezing and green blobs) and tried every possible combination of settings and viewers. I noticed the problem was most prevalent when viewing footage through IVMS4200. Finally, the solution turned out to be doing a full factory reset of the camera...

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

New firmware for the G3 Series (2CD23x6G2) cams hit the Hikvision download portal today. Link here: IPC_G3_EN_STD_5.5.160_210209.zip Currently downloading and will install as soon as possible. Hopefully fixes the persistent issue I have with the motion detection polygon becoming corrupt...

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

A further update on the issue I've been having with my 2CD2386G2. Hikvision suggested factory resetting the camera and starting with the default settings. After a full reset and reconfiguration it appears that both the motion trails and the NVR dropping frames has resolved itself. Not yet...

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

A bit of an update on my experiences with my 2CD2386G2 8MP cam. I am very much liking this cam, primarily for its night time performance which in my case has allowed me to have the camera set in full colour mode at night without significant loss in quality and also the audio recording...

DS-2CD2386G2 - AcuSense - Bad image quality on latest firmware (V5.5.134)

Heads up. Firmware .150 has been officially released. At least on the Russian Hikvision ftp site. ftp.hikvision.ru Having had lots of problems with my 2CD2386G2 with image blur, stuttering and dropping recorded frames after a period of operation I didn't hesitate to install the firmware on...

    Hikvision Acusense 8MP motion blur

The point I wanted to make was simply that my initial assumption was that the corruption was due to high bit rates not being handled by the NVR. Turns out it was not the NVR but looks to be IVMS4200. What you choose to do with your cam settings after that is up to you.

    Hikvision Acusense 8MP motion blur

A quick update on this issue. I checked the day's footage last night and found that at almost every instance where a person moved across the scene, the image would break up and the person would have a "digital" trail for the entire width of the image. It appears that lowering the bit rate did...

    Hikvision Acusense 8MP motion blur

It's probably a bit off topic but I find that the bit rates I mentioned previously work just fine for what I do. My objective is not to get the absolute best image that I can extract from the cam by going OTT on the bit rates but rather i try to balance the need for image quality over storage...

    Hikvision Acusense 8MP motion blur

Did you manage to find a solution? I wanted to share my experience with the same problem. Having just commissioned a new 2CD2386G2 cam I was surprised when I reviewed yesterday's recorded footage to find that at almost ever single instance where a moving object crossed the scene that the...

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

I just installed my first Acusense turret camera which replaces a 2CD2385FWD-I (8MP) at the front of my property. The reason for the update from the very capable 2CD2385FWD-I was primarily for better night time vision. The 2CD2385FWD-I has a wonderful image in good light but this deteriorates...

Turret wall mounting for HikVision, can it be done with outdoor units?

@GLO. This might seem like a simple enough question but care and attention is required. That image you attached shows the camera wall mounting as it applies in the Northern hemisphere. If you try installing your camera with these instructions shown it will end up pointing to the sky! Check...

    New Firmware - Hikvision I-series NVR - Version 4.40.010

Sounds very odd. I've checked my NVR logs again since installing firmware 4.40.010 almost a week ago but don't see indications of crashes or spontaneous reboots....everything looks normal. Rolling back the firmware to 4.22.005 will soon reveal if your problems are related to the update.

    New Firmware - Hikvision I-series NVR - Version 4.40.010

My next guess would be internal power supply issues....I'd first pull the top off the NVR and check all the connectors are properly seated. If nothing obvious is found there then I'd be rolling back the firmware to check if the problem still persists. Which, if it does, seems to point to a...

    New Firmware - Hikvision I-series NVR - Version 4.40.010

I'd say spontaneous and random reboots was a power issue rather than firmware but if it all started with the firmware update then I suppose that rules power out somewhat.

The latest firmware was posted by Hikvision in the last couple of days. It is now version 4.40.010. Attempted Region change on DS-2CD3332 gone south. Is it fixable?

Well that really takes the biscuit.....the modified copy mtd6ro you supplied worked a charm. Dropped it back into the cam, reboot and away it went. I re-flashed the firmware with an English version of 5.1.6 taken from Hikvision.com some time ago and it went on without complaints. The really...
