How to enable OpenWeatherMaps on camera video in Blue Iris 5.9.9.32 ?

Ahh, OK, I was looking for a pull down menu to select these within the software. Thank you!

How to enable OpenWeatherMaps on camera video in Blue Iris 5.9.9.32 ?

I have this latest stable BI release, have installed it and have the BI settings location tab fields populated with my geographical data and the OpenWeatherMap API key. The weather updates successfully every 15 minutes. The BI user manual states that a number of macros should then be available...

    Starlink - anyone have it?

Yes, I only saw it was not 12 volt after I posted. The Mean Well supplies are great, I’ve used them for PoE and IR illuminators.

    Starlink - anyone have it?

What 12 volt source are you using to power this?

    Emergency Power/Storms/Prepping etc

Very nice but what is the wall surface and structure there? Looks like the stove is very close to it. We burned a 40,000 BTU Vermont Castings stove for years and had to space it a couple of inches away from brick that had an airspace behind it.

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

My limited understanding on this is that certain evidence (from Twitter?) presented at his “trial” was from 2018 at which time he was president.

lol maybe what he says and how he says it is a rough translation from Chinese masters to English!

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

If you ever think you're having a bad day at work, remember that somebody has the job to translate Biden's debate comments into Chinese.

Wow! There are still good people among us!

I took CERT training about ten years ago. You‘re taught it’s very important to survey the scene before jumping into action. The heroic rescuers in this video were trying to open a door that was up against the guardrail. One night about two years ago, I came upon a small SUV that had snapped off...

I’ve noticed my server keeps going offline.

Could be a driver problem. Can you run it in safe mode with networking and see if it behaves?

Confirmation (blocking internet access for "made in China" cameras)

What model switch are you using for this?

Confirmation (blocking internet access for "made in China" cameras)

I’d add an internal hard drive in the BI PC for the recordings instead of using your NAS. Keep that traffic off of your LAN. Depending on you router’s capabilities, your IoT devices can be on a guest network or otherwise isolated from your LAN but not on the cameras subnet.

Short mast needed for Ethernet between buildings

I hear ya about lightning...there are NO failproof solutions. I'm in PA and we get our share of thunderstorms. Most damage I've seen is due to differences in device grounds I've also used Ubiquiti devices including their ETH-SP for static. There is no power at the remote building so it'll be...

Short mast needed for Ethernet between buildings

Yes, probably will use something like this.

Short mast needed for Ethernet between buildings

Thanks for your reply…yes, messenger cable with clamps. Since the pipe will extend a couple of feet above the roof, I suppose a proper ground rod should be used.

Short mast needed for Ethernet between buildings

I need to run a 40 foot aerial ethernet messenger cable between two buildings. The destination building is about 13 feet high but the source building is only about nine feet high at it's highest point so I need to raise the mounting point a couple of feet for adequate ground clearance...

Need help with multiple access points

I suppose the TP-Link devices would work. It all depends on your intended uses at each location and whether or not you also want WiFi on the farm field. Ubiquiti's NS-5AC-US Nanostations, for example, would be for establishing a point-to-point link only...they are not traditional WiFi access...

Need help with multiple access points

If you have power at all locations and clear lines of sight you can use Ubiquiti’s Nanostation access points.

Surprised by LPR from a budget camera

This is an unedited image from a relatively inexpensive 8MP IPC-T2831-ZS S2 which is currently being used as an overview to get a baseline sense of daily human behavior at a temporary location. IT was not intended to provide LPR, but plates are easily identifiable during the day, and I was...

Any good tutorials on setting up/configuring VPN on Windows for remote BlueIris access?

Think of it as self-managed, encrypted virtual networking. It is neither fair nor accurate to see it as simply a Napster-type p2p. I've not read of any security issues.

Doing something wrong with OpenVPN client on Windows... but works on Android. Help please.

Are you using the router for DHCP on the LAN? Does the client laptop pull a LAN IP from the VPN subnet?

What do you think of this Battery backup?

OK, then...anything can fail...YMMV...that's not been my experience and, in the meantime, I'm enjoying the $avings. I'll assume you mean capacitors... I can remember seeing one non-battery related UPS failure in 20+ years of battery swaps, and that was a consumer-grade cheapo. I'm also...

What do you think of this Battery backup?

What I do is watch for used, on-line, dual-conversion UPS units listed on eBay that do not have batteries. No batteries can mean lower shipping costs. Many of these units use the common HR1234W batteries that are $20 - $25 each shipped. This way you can get a far better, always-on, rackmount UPS...

Can you provide a link to the enclosure at Amazon? I may need to similarly locate a USW-Flew switch.

I’ve been using Zerotier for a few months For remote access. No open ports are required on the router.

Several years ago I installed multiple thermostats and a Vera controller for a client. The whole setup was extremely reliable other than a couple of times that the remote server was down..
