How many days of video do you keep for a home system?

@The Automation Guy Can you test if one of your 5 month old alert still playback the video correctly? Maybe you have the alert listed, but not the actual video.

Reolink doorbell, Blue iris and CPAI

@XativaDavid Your first screenshot shows ONVIF error (upper right corner). I don't think BI5 is able to get any Reolink doorbell ONVIF events until you fix that. Given your AI screen, I'm not sure I understand your configs. Are you really trying to detect person, vehicle, bicycle, and animal...

    Outdoor camera - recommendations?

@pms If you want discrete, go with turret camera like this 4MP: EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-AS 1/1.8" CMOS 4MP WDR IR Eyeball AI Network Came The above is fixed lens. If you want the ability to adjust zoom, try: EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 1/1.8" CMOS 4MP IR Starlight Vari-focal Tur These 2...

Reolink doorbell, Blue iris and CPAI

@XativaDavid If you don't want "motion" alert, perhaps you should uncheck "Motion Zones" in your screenshot as a test. I assume you want to trigger CP.AI with doorbell ONVIF events only. You also need to share your camera Trigger tab and the 2 highlighted items below. Uncheck "Motion...

Reolink doorbell, Blue iris and CPAI

I have Reolink wifi doorbell. I am able to pass Reolink ONVIF event (person detection) to BI which triggers CP.AI . Reolink person detection by itself is ok but, for me, to maximize reliability, I send event thru CP.AI as well. P.S. Make sure you have ONVIF enabled in both Reolink and BI5.

Home Depot has Gorilla Ladders 18' Reach MPXA Aluminum Multi-Position Ladder (300-lbs Load Capacity; GLMPXA-18) on sale for $99 10/31/2023

I assume this is not enough to reach 2nd story house? (I probably need 22 ft or higher?)

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

@MikeLud1 I use ipcam-general model for most cam AI configs. When biking down the driveway, I noticed that it correctly identified me as person and the 10-speed bicycle as vehicle. Are images of bicycles included in the training set for this model?

Tun on LEDs based on motion

@Thanamite Yes, you can manually turn on/off color4k LEDs via API calls. Check other threads where these API calls were shared. BI5 should be able to execute this API call upon a triggered event. Personally, I use Home Assistant to run an automation based a number of events (camera person...

Newbie question about cable run through attic in Indiana

@samplenhold To your point, why recommend cat6 when cat7 is also available and even better? I think there is always something better... If we return to the original question, will cat5e work? yes. Will cat6 work? yes

Newbie question about cable run through attic in Indiana

cat5e should be sufficient, just make sure it's solid copper and not the fake stuff. cat6 will work too but is thicker so harder to work with. I use cat5e in attic and have no issues. I also have cat5e going outside. So when I buy a 1000' roll, I just buy the outdoor rated one to use for...

Would a boobie cam be the best in this situation?

I have a boobie camera (Dahua). It would be a decent choice. You might want to consider a 180deg camera for your scenario like this one: Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera The above 180deg camera also comes in a...

    How are Dahua doorbells?

@Sunfox Reolink comes with it's own chime. Why wouldn't that work for you if you want to avoid cloud doorbells? With Ring, you're also loosing control since they have access to your video now.

    How are Dahua doorbells?

@Sunfox The title of forum thread that I shared above is incomplete. Reolink provides 2 versions of doorbell: POE or Wifi. The Wifi version can be powered by a doorbell transformer. I bought Wifi version and it integrates well with BlueIris and Home Assistant. Completely local. BTW...

    Newbie Questions

@mike32162 In BI5, for every cam, the default list of ONVIF events should have some IVS rules that should just work for you. Set the memo to a friendly string so you will know which one was triggered when you get alerted. Also, if you test trigger your camera IVS by walking in front of it...

    Newbie Questions

@mike32162 In BI5, for the camera ONVIF screen, disable every ONVIF event except IVS like shown. Also, for IVS, I set memo to a friendly string like "IVS". You can set that to whatever you want, like "person"

Can I capture license plates and the suspect's face with the same camera?

Yeah, unlikely to capture both face and license plate with same cam as explained by @wittaj For face, it looks like you may have enough light to run in color at night. Color will provide more details. For license plate, you will need 2 dedicated cams if you want both front and back plates.

    Human / Face detection

@35s77 In BI5, for camera ONVIF configuration, I disable all the listed events except the IVS one(s). That will ensure that BI5 will trigger on IVS only. CellMotion events will most likely have false alarms.

    5.7.5 - April 20, 2023 - Onvif updates

Yeah, you may need to send an enhancement request to Blue Iris support to adress your situation. P.S. I don't do alerting in BI5. I send all BI5 events to Home Assistant via MQTT. Home Assistant has automation where I can define the condition logic that would trigger 1 or more actions. One of...

Related to the info you shared above Mike, just in case people do not know, for Dahau cameras that have recent firmware, you can rename each IVS rule to whatever you want. See screenshot for an illustration of how I named my IVS rules: The above is example for cam with web 5.0 but I can do...
