Vehicle trigger settings - missing subsequent vehicles after initial capture

@Nidstang Enable "Begin analysis with motion-leading image" to see if that helps change the first image that is processed. Also, from your screenshot, it's taking CP.AI ~900+ msec to process each image. Disable "Use main stream if available" will reduce CP.AI processing time so it can...

    gate automation

@skjom Agree, LPR boils down to doing OCR on a camera snapshot. Usually, this is not a problem during the daytime and when car is not moving or very slow. To get this to work reliably, hardest part is tweaking your camera to return quality images at night so OCR can accurately read plate #s...

    gate automation

Yes, I do this on my side with a Dahau IP camera + Blue Iris + CodeProject.AI + Home Assistant. CodePorject.AI does the ALPR, Blue Iris sends each plate event to HA via MQTT where I have automation that can trigger actions if plate # matches my car, wife's car or unknown.

    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

@Nidstang Getting data out of BI5 is straightforward. For me, I configured BI5 to send data via MQTT to Home Assistant. I can then use automations in HA to do more complex actions. MQTT is pretty standard mechanism for data sharing for a number of home automation platforms. Below is a...

    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

@Nidstang If you are on a recent BI5 release and have configured CP.AI correctly to capture license plates, there is no programming required. See screenshot below. You will get a list of plates in the alert list and if you put a partial plate # in search box below, it will limit the alert...

Looking for a decent doorbell camera that works with BI

FYI From a quick search, if you use Lorex doorbells, doorbell presses may be available thru API so you may not need a physical relay. There are a number of githubs on this like GitHub - dbhardman/Lorex_doorbell: Home assistant add-on for the Lorex 2k Doorbell

New BlueIris Setup - I have some questions

BI5 db should go on your fastest drive (SSD). Recordings can go on WD. No need to store recordings to "New" folder first, then moving to "Store" folder. Best to store recordings in their final folder from start.

Question - BI and CPAI detects Person but still goes to Cancelled Alerts

@kaltertod Your advice is a possible option but I would use it judiciously. Why? the downside is that an alert will only trigger after 10 images have been processed---each time (for the above OP config). And if you look at the CP.AI processing time for each image (not very performant)...

Question - BI and CPAI detects Person but still goes to Cancelled Alerts

1 observation: Your 2nd screenshot doesn't match your 1st screenshot. Are both screenshots from same cam? In your 2nd screenshot, at the top, I see "Person" for confirm. That is DIFFERENT than "person" detected with ipcam-combined model (further down.) If it's not clear, it can be case...

@Wired6400 Your config does not look right. If you review this thread, MikeLud1 previously shared his suggested config: Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR (assuming you're on a recent CP.AI release) As a data point, I have been getting plate #'s on my side and can see them in the UI3 alert...

New member looking to replace UniFi Protect with fully local setup

@marceldegraaf The EmpireTech camera (or variant) you referenced will be a good camera to build around. For doorbell, Reolink has POE version: https://www.amazon.com/REOLINK-Doorbell-Security-Diagonal-Detection/dp/B0B7S1HMPC/ Home Assistant has good Reolink integration so you'll have access...

@cpd5215 You can reuse the POE switch you currently have if it provides enough power. Check it's spec. I don't use NVR, I have BI5 so I'll take a pass on NVR question.

@cpd5215 I assume you were buying a few IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 initially. Just test mount it in your front porch using 2x4 and bucket. Best way to really know if it's going to work out for you. IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 or fix-lens version is best all around camera at this time, much better than your...

@cpd5215 Given your list of cameras, the only camera I am concerned about is 3541F-AS-M for your front porch. It has a 1/27" lens like your current 2MP cameras but at 5MP it's going to need sufficient lighting to provide you with quality night images. If possible, run camera in full color...

How to wire/install when soffits are too high?

Yeah, cable quality is important. If you use an installer and he provides the cabling, make sure it's good quality or buy it yourself to be sure. It's not impossible to replace cabling but you just don't want to go there...better to spend a bit more for quality up front.
