    CodeProject.AI Version 2.5

@David L If you name the models as suggested, won't you need to go into every camera AI screen and update custom model config when you switch from v8 version back to v5, and vice versa? I'm not sure this is a good thing. Increases the chances I will have typos or misconfigure, given the...

    Mini-Review - 5442-Z4E-S3 AKA B54IR-Z4E S3 - Replacement to the 5442-Z4E

@Parley Have you caught anyone noticing the cameras in the tree? Do they try to inspect closer? Any of your neighbors?

    Tree Install

One idea, you can hide turret in a bird house and mount to your tree: Search Product | Michaels P.S. Just in case you are not aware, your images have your location - latitude, longitude.

    Dahua AcuPick

@wittaj Or we can ask Ken to add it BI5. It would make BI5 stand out from the competition. I haven't seen this in other software NVR like frigate yet. How do we convince him?

    Dahua AcuPick

Really cool stuff if it works reliably. Acupick looks like an implementation of image similarity search, like this: Image Similarity with Hugging Face Datasets and Transformers The idea is to encode every detected object (in images) as vectors in a vector database. When you want to do image...

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.5

@Dudleydogg Is "Z17C 9RP" the license plate # in your screenshot? That is stored in plate field. You tell BI5 to put it in memo field also if you configure camera AI as suggested by MikeLud1. He's shared his config many times in the ALPR thread. Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.5

@Dudleydogg Shared in ALPR thread: Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR License plate #'s are stored in plate field, and also memo field if BI5 AI is configured correctly. You can search for a plate # in UI3. You can retrieve data via BI5 JSON API, or push data to other systems like Home...

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.5

Daytime images are usually good with most quality cameras. You definitely want to check that nighttime images are also clear for moving intruders.

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.5

@Wattstopper101 Yes, ipcam-general is trained to recognize person and vehicle only. Use a different model if you need to detect additional objects. The custom model list is on this page: https://www.codeproject.com/Articles/5358543/FAQ-Blue-Iris-and-CodeProject-AI-Server

IVS not sending trigger to BI, but MD/SMD does - why?

@wittaj You're correct. I just noticed how old this thread it is.

IVS not sending trigger to BI, but MD/SMD does - why?

@Leroy60 What Blue Iris version are you on? ....because your Blue Iris camera trigger tab screenshot does not look like it has the ONVIF triggers. It should look like this: You need to be on BI v5.7.5 or higher, best to go more recent. Take a look at 2 more screenshots I share here...

How to setup Dahua IVS with BlueIris?

@alecz On my side, I haven't noticed any significant delay between Dahua IVS event and ONVIF trigger reaching BI5. Obviously, a valid concern if delay is significant. What BI5 version are you on? Ken has improved ONVIF triggers in BI5 over a number of releases. What is your average delay...

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

@ch3st3rk It's best practice to configure main+sub streams for every camera to reduce CPU load, especially if you have cameras with high resolution like 4k. You're not missing out, you still have access to the main streams for viewing. In general, AI models are trained on lower resolution...
  14. A

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

@ch3st3rk If you don't have substream configured for camera, then BI5 has no choice but to use main stream image for CP.AI. Main stream image will take more CPU to do AI detect than substream image. Add substream to camera temporarily to see if it improves AI response time. BTW, please...
  15. A

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.5

@ch3st3rk Given the details you shared, since you unticked main stream, BI5 should send substream image to CP.AI. Is substream configrued for that camera? Also, please share screenshots for: #1: AI tab for that camera #2: The AI details for a triggered event.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

@tumtumsback Just in case you did not know, since you are using Home Assistant, HA has native Reolink integration. It looks like the screenshots I shared previously: https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/new-reolink-wired-poe-doorbell-cam.66073/page-53#post-819372 so you don't even need to wait for...

camera placement - all details included - any input is sincerely appreciated

@Skyflyer #1 thing you should reconsider is your camera choices. Daytime images should be fine. But I do not think nighttime images will be adequate with RLC1224A - a 12MP camera with 1/2.49" CMOS Sensor, you will very likely get blurry images in low light situations for moving intruders...

Cleaner installation of turret camera on fence?

Yes, you can bypass the stand and mount the camera direct but then the cable connection will be exposed to the elements. If you are using a waterproof connector, that shouldn't be a problem. I would spray paint the camera to blend in with the fence so it's less noticeable. It doesn't have...

CodeProjectAI is tagging items twice... Is that wasting resources?

@erkme73 You're using ipcam-general custom model in your 2nd screenshot so please make sure "Use custom models" is enabled in global settings (1st screenshot) 5000 was the defacto CP.AI port for first few versions but not the official port anymore. Please use 32168 for CP.AI port.

    EmpireTech aka Dahua LPR Settings

@anonymoosed What is providing you with the vehicle make/model? With respect to getting sharper images for plate # extraction, if you have camera exposure set to auto, instead set shutter speed manually, try 1/500. If that is not good enough, try 1/1000
  21. A

CodeProjectAI is tagging items twice... Is that wasting resources?

@erkme73 Yes, CP.AI sent your image to multiple models to detect objects, your last screenshot list each model used at every timestamp and how long each prediction took. IMHO, those prediction times are on the slower side for my taste. You can reduce resources by turning off default models...

    Camera suggestion

Search for LPR on this site, there are many threads on this topic. They will provide alot of good details. Bottom line, for LPR, you need a dedicated camera with zoom. Set your camera shutter speed properly to reduce the blur.

@wittaj Did you try CP.AI Explorer UI to test LPR with image? Does that work?

    Blue Iris UI3

UI3 version 265, Blue Iris version: 5.8.4.5 I noticed this red speaker icon (I highlighted with yellow rectange in screenshot). Why does it appear every time trigger happens (red lightning icon), even for external trigger? I think this was introduced in a recent release?!?! What does it...

AI works in debug but doesn't log it.

@wpiman If I view your video, the AI details on the left, for whatever reason, BI5 only sent 1 image to CP.AI, right? And the image sent to CP.AI, did it have a license plate in the image? If no, then CP.AI won't have anything in image to pull plate #. With respect to AI in debug mode, BI5...

    Better camera suggestion

@Ri22o Although that is a real nice picture, I'm not sure it's useful when half of the vertical view is the sky. i.e. I do not expect criminals to parachute in. Does it makes sense to angle this 180deg camera downward?

    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

@wpiman Yeah, with OCR an S may look like number 5 or vice versa; other equivalent patterns as well. I do home automations using Home Assistant. When I get a plate # from BI5 via MQTT, I use regular expressions to match to several known plates. Example code: variables: vehicle: >- {% if...

Vehicle trigger settings - missing subsequent vehicles after initial capture

@Nidstang Are you getting plate #s with your AI configuration (in last shared screenshot)? (hence my surprise) If you are not getting extracted plate #s, then you should try MikeLud1 config: Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR
