    Infrared or not

I would get this kit. It’s the most recommended camera on this site. Get the NVR with the POE ports as it’s simple to setup. Also, you will have a ton of support on this site and Andy to help you through any issues. I have this exact kit and couldn’t be happier.

Looking for an NVR for 5 cameras

Even though they may be Onvif cameras, you would more than likely lose some of the cameras features not using a reolink NVR. Also, if you get a reolink NVR with built in POE ports, it would be more of a plug and play setup.

NVR system with 4 turret cameras

Blue Iris is a video management software that you would use a dedicated PC to run it. I’m not to familiar with it as I run a NVR.

NVR system with 4 turret cameras

I would not get that kit as you would want to upgrade quickly. It has 1/3” sensors which is for a 2mp camera (night vision would be poor quality). All the cameras are 2.8mm which are recommended for overview only and not to identify anyone. The NVR is not that powerful also. If money is an...

NVR system with 4 turret cameras

I would just go with a varifocal so you can dial the camera in perfect to your needs. If you have enough lighting you could run color night vision otherwise just get IR cameras. No need for this, just run a doorbell like the reolink that everyone recommends on here. Don’t worry about this as...

I also had the same issue not being able to get to certain spots in my attic due to the tight space. What I did was cut a hole where I wanted to mount the camera in my eves outside, then used fiberglass rods fished through the hole until I could grab them. I attached the harbor freight link to...

Dahua NVR 4416 settings view & camera IP address

I have a NVR with built in POE and it auto assigns the camera IP with the 10.x.x.x and that’s what it should do. I am not certain on the picture issue.

Recommendation for a cheapish 4g modem router with inbuilt VPN.

I have found that Asus routers are the easiest to setup a VPN on utilizing Open VPN. It is super simple and works as it should!

New to PoE cams. This site seems to be a great source of information.

https://empiretech01.com/products/empiretech-kit3-8-16-camera-capable-nvr-system-with-1-1-8-cmos-4mp-turret-camera-ipc-t54ir-ze I would definitely go with this system. They’re all varifocal so you don’t have to worry about finding the right 2.8, 3.6, 6mm camera for your situation. I have this...

Yes, they will need to be on the same IP address except the last number will be different for each thing on your system. Example: 192.168.1.xxx. Make sure the first three numbers are the same and the last number is different than anything else on your network.

I really hate it for cops

Something they do here in Kansas is the ride along program. This allows citizens to see first hand the daily life of an officer instead of watching the narratives the news stations put off in order to receive views! It’s crazy how most people that do a ride along, or multiple, chance their view...

How to setup IVS tripwire in these areas?

I have never thought of an intrusion zone until now! After some research sounds like it would be a good idea to setup an intrusion zone in all my areas! Do you run an intrusion zone and tripwire on all your areas?

How to setup IVS tripwire in these areas?

Should it be just one tripwire or multiple? If it’s multiple, I wonder if you would get a ton of alerts/ make it hard to search through video?
