Hikvision NVR with POE; adding non-POE WiFi IPCam help needed

I have the OEM version of the Hikvision DS-7608NI-SE/8P NVR that supports up to 8 IPC and has an integrated 8-port POE switch. I have four 2332 IPC cameras connected to the POE switch and the NVR works great. The virtual host feature allows me to access each IPC on the POE side from the LAN...

    Hikvison Permanent Region Code Hack

I loosely followed the directions in this thread: http://www.ipcamtalk.com/hikvision/2680-un-brick-cameras-patched-via-camera-region-patch-forum-5-2-8-5-2-5-a.html?2680-un-brick-cameras-patched-via-camera-region-patch-in-this-forum-5-2-8-to-5-2-5=#post22553 I say loosely because the camera did...

    Hikvison Permanent Region Code Hack

The above did not work for me. I went ahead and applied the MTD5/6 hack on a 5.2.8 labeled camera running 5.2.0 in all English including day of the week just to test the theory and learn. Unfortunately this bricked it. Used tftp to recover and in order to restore the original MTD5/6 blocks I...

    Hikvison Permanent Region Code Hack

According to your findings, even though my camera originally came with 5.2.8 and is now running 5.2.0 I should be able to do the hack...and yet that disagrees with both S474N (post #133) and networkcameracritic (post #135). So of course I'm hesitant (though I do thank all on this board that try...

    Hikvison Permanent Region Code Hack

I believe that networkcameracritic tried this on a 5.2.8 orig FW camera and it didn't work. I have a 5.2.8 orig FW camera now running 5.2.0 (as delivered from Chinese vendor) with everything is in English including the day of the week. I would like to turn this into a English camera to allow...

    Hikvison Permanent Region Code Hack

I would be cautious. From what I understand, if you use the MTD5/6 change on the first page of this thread on a camera that came from the factory with 5.2.5 or later, regardless of what the camera is running now (5.2.0 or 5.2.3), the camera will brick.

    Hikvison Permanent Region Code Hack

I used this "how to" on a camera that originally came with v5.1.6 and now is at v5.2.5 in all English including day of week, as I want it. I just received another camera that originally came with v5.2.8 that is running a hacked v5.2.0 in all English/multi-language (day of week in English)...

    Hikvison Permanent Region Code Hack

I bought a Chinese DS-2CD-2332 with 5.1.6 with the day of the week in English. Upgraded to 5.2.0, day of week still in English. Upgraded to 5.2.5 and day of week is in Chinese. So what (and where) is the day of the week fix explained? Thanks!

Hikvision FIRMWARE TOOLS - change language, extract files and create own firmware

Thanks for the reply. I don't have an hkvs directory (see below). # pwd /proc/sys # ls debug dev fs kernel net sunrpc vm # BTW, the reason I want to upgrade to 3.0.10 is this that the older firmware (v3.0.8) has a severe security issue that you can review here...

    Hikvison Permanent Region Code Hack

My 2332 camera has a CH in its serial number so it is most likely Chinese yet the day is in English. I upgraded it from 5.1.6 (sticker on the box was 5.1.6_140412) to 5.2.0 from HikV Europe via the camera's web interface and everything remained in English even the day of the week, do you think...
