ui3 seems to hard freeze my pc around twice a week
My camera server works fine, but my Windows pc I use to view my cameras freezes about twice a week. This is a hard freeze, where kb and mouse will not work, so I have to press the reset button. Blue Iris Tools - Weather Overlay, Watchdog & more!
Have read over responses for several pages. I applaud the programming guy for finding a fix! I will make a donation for this excellent software. The weather overlay on my BI cameras used to display C and F temps. Now only displays F. Is there something I need to adjust?- TahoeJeff

Running on an Acer laptop with an Intel i3-7100u. 2.4ghz. I have been running 5 cameras for quite awhile with no issues, but cpu started maxing out when I installed a 6th. OMG, you ARE the man! The email was on my phone, so no way to copy the regedit path, but I had no problem drilling down to that key. I just did not have the time to reinstall, and of course I have not backed up my settings since adding several cameras. You just don't realize how dependent you...- TahoeJeff

Since adding another camera, my cpu was running way too high, so I followed the instructions on optimizing BI for cpu. First, I set each camera to record direct to disk. So far, no problem. Next, I set the hardware acceleration to Intel, and restarted BI Now, BI gets to the logo/splash screen...- TahoeJeff

Cleaning a dome camera
I would think you'd be able to just gently hose off the outside of the dome a few times a year if they need it. They are made to withstand storms. Keeping the inside of the dome clean is critical, as the IR will reflect off of the dust. At least twice a year, I have to open up my cameras, dump...- TahoeJeff

Lan IP changing
Many thanks for all the helpful posts! I did set a static IP for the nic that is outside of the range the dhcp uses. I have a Buffalo router, running DD-WRT. The lease was set to 1440 minutes, or 24 hours. -

In BI settings under Web server tab, Local internal (LAN) access it does not let me change that IP address. Right now it is 192.168.11.47:81 And what is the check box for Listen/bind to one selected lan ip only? -

I access my BI cams from several computers on my LAN. Seems like since I moved BI to a newer pc, the IP for the page has been changing daily. I don't see a way to set a static IP in BI. If this is something that needs to be locked down in my router, what is it called? -

I'm a bit new to this game too, but I do recall reading that you do not want to use copper clad cable. You want solid copper. If yours is labeled CCA, you may have issues.- TahoeJeff

Best warranty on cameras through retailers? Alliexpress? Amazon? Ebay?
I'm pretty happy with my Dericam IP cameras. I get them on Amazon. Lifetime support and 1 year warranty. I had one fail recently (with 2 weeks left on warranty), and after some troubleshooting they are sending me a new replacement camera! I consider that excellent customer service and warranty!- TahoeJeff
