    I bought some parts from newegg and some from amazon... tried to find sales to make my Intel computer. Cost was $650. After I was done, I saw fenderman's links... I could have saved even more. It has been a pleasurable experience moving from AMD to Intel. 4790 is cool and fast.

    More image noise when it rains.

    Ends of RJ45 getting wet... needs better protection. Also check to see if cable is any good (might be damaged or ends are bad, wet). Buy a new cable and test.

    Read the forums 1st before updating the hikvision firmware. Then decide if you'ld like to spend a few days trying to recover your messed up camera. ie if it aint broke: don't touch it. But who reads today?

    Blue Iris 12002 timeout error, but I can connect to the camera just fine

    I'm on version 4 and current updates... last night my BI and cams went out (no signal). Checked today to see why. Seems I'm getting error 12007. My internet works for everything else. Cams all work on the web. Fired up Sighthound and cams work good. Also checked BI3, works ok too. Will keep looking.

Read the forums of locked up firmware upgrades. Then decide if you need one too. Just read and enjoy your camera as is. NO REASON TO UPDATE...

    You got the box the camera came in? Then send it back and get your money back. You should read the forums 1st before updating software. Or toss camera into the junk drawer and buy another new one and don't update it. Read Forums 1st.

    Also try lowering the fps to 15 and the iframe to 15 (should match same rates). Next set B.I. to 20fps. Ghosting may take a hike.

    Lower the nighttime setting to 1/12 or 1/6. Daytime settings are about 1/30. (usa 60hz)
