    Blue Iris UI3

Will install now and update on my findings. Will try and see if I can identify a pattern into what triggers the error, aside from time. Thanks for the continued support!

I keep getting this error popup on iPad. I've attempted to narrow down whats causing it but haven't found anything specific. Using WebCodecs. It never displays the error when loading the page, only when it has been displaying cams for some time. Pressing ok refreshes the stream and continues...

New build CAT6 camera cabling through a wall

You're overthinking it - drop cables down internal wall, drill through external leaf. I'd be tempted to run secondary cables down for internal network points at the same locations. This would then define 'zones' where the cables have been dropped so it's then clear that there are cables behind...

why are you trying to use livestream.htm? I use ui3 with url parameters to display groups on various devices. You can change the authentication settings in your BI console to only authenticate non-lan connections. Something like this would then open a specific group, full screen...

Challenging Network Issue - Cameras going offline randomly

Hi Tom, Have you checked any logs on that TP-Link switch in the basement? Might help you narrow down the issue. Only time I've experienced similar is where the switches power supply begins to fail. Off hand that switch uses an external power supply so you could try another power supply and see...

IP66 enough or go for IP67?

If not submersed, IP66 will be suitable for most applications, including rain and snow.

Thanks for those changes - and WebCodecs support! The JS player was previously the best but resource intensive. If I wasn't getting out of memory errors, it would be draining iPad batteries even when they were on charge. Will keep monitoring battery life using web codecs but so far it's looking...

Yes the HTML5 player does work - most of the time. But with much higher player delays. Admittedly my testing with the HTML5 player has been limited, but sometimes when changing to single streams from groups (or auto-maximise) it would freeze and not resume until tapping out of the single stream...

    Blue Iris UI3

Running BI 5.8.0.8 / UI3 v254 / iPads iOS17 WebCodecs is by far the best/performant I've ever previously been able to configure. Before I was defaulting to the JS player which was more reliable than the HTML5 player and didn't tend to delay as much. D2W turned on for single cam views / groups...

Thin touchscreen panel for wall-mounted dashboard?

Difficult to find thin 24" touchscreens that fit relatively flush to the wall. Illyama, ELO, Viewsonic, Hannspree do basic touchscreens at various sizes and are good 'bang for your buck'. Use a slim mount such as: https://www.avpartsmaster.co.uk/peerless-pf632-flat-panel-wall-mount For a more...

Possible to have BI sent audio motion detection notification to Alexa ?

Take a look at the Alexa skill: Voice Monkey. Enables you to trigger an announcement notification via an http request. You can also trigger routines and other various functions too.

Various viewing stations throughout a house?

Seconded on the advice to learn BI or similar - will you give you a lot of flexibility when routing cam feeds, groups etc. I understand why this might be daunting at first. Another suggestion for your HDMI routing is to use an HDMI over IP solution such as Best AV over IP Solution for Your Home...

Additional hack suggestion: Wrap your iframe in another card (e.g stack-in-card) and then set overflow:hidden to the stack-in-card. Then apply negative margin-bottom to your iframe-card. Could even set the margin as a variable that you could then control with a toggle switch, automation etc...

UI3 Video Playback painfully slow / Live is fine

In UI3, whilst playing back the recording - right click > Stats for nerds and see what delays you are getting. Can then have a better idea of if it's network or hardware/software. Good idea to check on a different device, logged into the same BI account and see if you are still getting low fps...

    Memory Utilization

I don't have any memory issues between LAN/WAN access. Only difference I've seen in differing utilisation is where video encoder profiles for WAN are set incorrectly and/or too high (bitrate/quality etc). To make things equal, if they are not already, is to match Video Encoder Profiles for both...

How to change BI profile using HomeAssistant?

I also use the BI integration for HA and it's been rock solid for the past ~12 months. I don't bring in camera feeds using it, but use the motion sensors it creates along with profile switching.

Can't connect after having fiber optic installed

Have you confirmed that your port is open WAN side? Try checking with Port Checker - Check Open Ports Online or similar. If open, then its router config or blue iris. Let us know results from the above.

Yes you can do this using the below in your overrides file: ui3-local-overrides.js Source: Local Overrides Sample: Network Delay Triggers Video Restart · bp2008/ui3 Wiki / UI3 Local Overrides Sample - Network Delay Triggers Video Restart var maximumNetworkDelay = 3000; / milliseconds...

    Alerts driving me insane

I have had this before where a new trigger would use the previous notification image on the new notification. I can't remember the exact steps I used to rectify (it was only a one camera and happened infrequently) but I think it's something going wrong in the DB. Try to repair/regenerate the db...

Any audio/speaker techs here? Issue with Active Subwoofer

I wish it was that simple! Unfortunately I get the same from my workshop which is on a different board to the house. I've contacted a local AV guy who said he will take a look. I'll post back after he's seen the unit.

Any audio/speaker techs here? Issue with Active Subwoofer

Thank you both! I was reading that the caps would generally be the first thing to check for. Looks like it's got four 6800uf 100VDC. There are also 3 smaller ones on the main board. To my eyes they don't appear to be leaking or bulging however? Here's some shots:

Any audio/speaker techs here? Issue with Active Subwoofer

Hi all, not sure if there's any A/V techs here? I've inherited what looks to be a Hill Audio 15" Active Subwoofer (circa 1990's I believe) and having an issue with it. The sub will power up and work for a short period of time but then start "buzzing" loudly. The cone looks like it get's pulled...

New Router, BI box no longer responding to me across LAN

First check I would make is in Windows Firewall on the blueiris machine. Where you've changed routers, Windows may have changed the network type. Window's does like to do this by itself every once in a while too... Confirm a rule is set to allow inbound traffic on port 1829.

    Blue Iris UI3

Following up on this after having another look at what is happening. It's even stranger... and I still don't think it's anything to do with UI3 unless there is some workaround using BroadcastChannel or similar. Posting for curiosity and interest! I have tested using three methods; Safari.app...

MQTT remote control of UI3 instances

UI3 will give each instance a unique ID (you can also specify the ID) that you can then subscribe/publish to. So when publishing your MQTT command you can specify which device/instances you want to affect. Alternatively you can set the ID to be the same on multiple devices and control them all...

Thank you very much! I understand my use case here with running ui3 within an iFrame is not general practice :smash: Strangely, cookies are enabled and I don't receive the toast error when logging into ui3 directly, only when running through an iFrame. I will test the update the and post back...
