Upgrading Motherboard - Deactivate Blue Iris First? Extend Maintenance?

I did this not long ago. I didn’t deactivate. It’s not strictly required so long as you don’t use the same key on two different installations simultaneously. I made sure I had an up to date BI export file for my cams. I installed the new BI, typed in my existing license key, and imported my BI...

    Natural Gas Generators

I ran Ethernet out to my 24kw Generac so I could install a RPi out there and run genmon on it. Genmon is great for getting metrics out of the generator and scheduling exercise times. You can extract metrics from the Gen with genmon and used Grafana to build pretty graphs...

Mine is fine. But mounted 35 feet in the air so no DoF issue for me at that height. https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/worlds-first-review-dahua-ipc-color4k-x-dh-ipc-hfw5849t1-ase-led-full-color-4k-camera.57013/page-64#post-891470

It's definitely something up with your particular VM. You can see my Windows BI VM has the CPU holding steady:

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.9.0

If I'm running this on Docker on a Linux VM with no GPU, is YOLO 6.2 or .NET recommended? All I'm getting is "Dayplate" when the occasional license plate is read. More often than not I get the "Nothing Found" even though the images are perfectly clear. If I use the CodeAI Explorer, it reads...

    4K-T180 Camera

You won't be able to really fix that unless camera has some type of LDC ability (barrel correctness but that really only crops the picture so you lose FOV) or the cam can split the 180 degree shot into two different channels that fit a 16:9 screen and you could view each channel separately...

Performance issues when using Blue Iris on a dual XEON Gold 5120 server

Whats the hypervisor? Something doesn't sound right. I have two VMs of BI: One in Proxmox and one in xcp-ng. The one is Proxmox is on an old Ryzen 1600AF with only 8 cores assigned and 12GB of ram. CPU usage averages 7% with 6 4MP cams. No quicksync here either. Just using substreams.

    EmpireTech 25X PTZ - Rebooting

If you have verified power is fine by using two injectors/Poe switches and the same problem arises, then I agree, it’s not power. I’d check network cabling next. Can you run a temporary line? I know you said you tested it with a fluke, but I’d still run a secondary test line just to be sure...

What type of switch/router for my needs

Yes. Those jacks would plug into the switch ports that you have configured as VLAN 10 (in my example earlier). Any data entering those switch ports are automatically tagged as VLAN 10 and the firewall rules apply accordingly. You could do this all with one very large switch and configure 3 of...

What type of switch/router for my needs

You are going to need basic understanding of subnetting, VLAN, wifi, etc... If I was doing this and only wanted to give them wifi access to the internet and no access to the rest of the LAN, then Id setup a dedicated AP just for them on a different VLAN/subnet than your home network. So VLAN...

Often asked, but so confused cameras and vlans. [newborn newbie]

Simply creating VLANs on your switch doesn't mean your router knows what you want to do with them. It may be configured to allow inter-VLAN routing by default. You have to create firewall rules in your router to tell it what you intend to happen with a packet that comes in with a tagged VLAN...

    Building my home network

I separate my camera LAN from my computer LAN via two different subnets. My router has the ability to assign different subnets/VLANs to each of it's LAN ports. I also have a dedicated POE switch just for the camera LAN. Then I just block the entire camera LAN subnet from access to the...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua - IPC-Color4K-X / DH-IPC-HFW5849T1-ASE-LED - Full Color 4K Camera

Yeah. I don't get any of that but my FOV is so much wider being 30'+ feet in the air. I also wonder if you simply got a bad camera? It's a shame this and the -T version of this camera is still plagued with problem for distances under 10'. Their ability to gather light is amazing.

Yup. Yours is noisier. It may be distance. My fov is so much further away than yours maybe we just can’t see it as well? Your images even look a tad bit more washed out than mine. I’m interested to see if shutter priority would make a difference.
