Slowly going crazy - help with setting cams

Try shutter between 4-8ms (4ms preferably (that's between 1/250 - 1/125 if it works in DSLR camera terms)). Keep gain below 50. I'd highly recommend 4ms for blur avoidance.

4kt - need help - clearly being an idiot / overlooking something

Hi, Need some help as pulling my hair out. One of my 4kt's went bad so Andy replaced it. I've put the new camera in place but I cannot contact it. So far I've tried: 1. Searching in the CONFIG APP - nothing found under default IP / password initialised or otherwise (192.168.1.108 - admin -...

Did someone make new lens covers for the 5442 series bullets?

Tried Andy for spares? Maybe they could be user replaced. Don't know, just throwing it out there. An alternative would be low iron glass although you might have to get it professionally cut, or maybe making one out of a UV cut camera filter of the plastic type. Not sure how you'd cut it, but...

    Review: Dahua 8MP / 4K 25x Starlight IR PTZ - PTZ5A4K-25X / SD5A825GA-HNR

Slightly off topic but Andy do you know of any good speakers? With Dahua would build them in as they seem very hard to find with mostly poor quality or huge expensive horns the only option.

    Review: Dahua 8MP / 4K 25x Starlight IR PTZ - PTZ5A4K-25X / SD5A825GA-HNR

To stop Ghosting Gain needs to be 50 or below & shutter at least 8ms (1/125 s ) minimum, preferably 4ms (1/250 s). Gain in the daytime should be zero or as near to zero as you can get it. That's general advice not specific to this camera. Ghosting is the result of a combination of too much...

    IPC-Color4K-T180 warm LED triggering?

You can recover IE on any system. Unfortunately MS will regularly remove it with updates. There are tutorials out there on how to do this but basically you create a simple script that points to IE which is still hidden in the OS and create a desktop link.

    Neighbor's House got Toilet Papered

I think part of the problem with plates in the US is you have an antiquated system of Road Tax. The UK used to have this. If people are forever removing number plates, it leads to less plate compliance. We used to have paper disc that went in a holder on the windscreen with the expiry date on...

Review- EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 4mp Varifocal Turret

I'm not sure it is pulsing. That looks to me like a glitch in the firmware or a resource issue. It kind of looks like it's recording and then runs out of resources or hits an issue in the encoding so it resets. There's a kind of a loop situation going on. I think pulsing would be much faster...

    Mini-Review - 5842-Z4E-S3 AKA B58IR-Z4E S3 - Replacement to the 5842-Z4E (8MP on the 1/1.8" sensor)

Wow. Really is a lot more difference than the figures suggest. I'm guessing they were measured under different conditions. For what it's worth I've fed back some issues with the 4Kt's to Dahua & suggested they look at producing a new camera with a larger sensor again at a reasonable price with...

Trying to get new Ditch_cam (IPC-T54IR-AS-3.6mm-S3) dialed in.

One solution might be to turn IR off and go with a small external IR flood light mounted away from the camera, maybe in another tree to the right (how far depends on the power of the light) or a branch much further up shining down. This might allow you to mount it far enough away that you don't...

    IVS trouble, sideways Color4K-T

Increase the number of trip wires. It takes a while to get the hang of it but you can draw a lot before it stops you. Another trick is to create another rule and this then allows you to add more trip wires. In the example picture above of the decking by JMCU, I'd have zig zagged trip wires all...

    Security camera installer reuses passwords

Must admit I'm guilty of using admin on my cameras albeit with my own password. Then again I feel relatively secure as they're sat behind a modem firewall and a second router firewall neither of which are admin and both of which have secure passwords. So it would take bypassing 2 firewalls to...

    Review- EmpireTech IPC-T58IR-SE S3 2.8mm 4k fixed lens

Thanks Herp but f-stop is not really what I'm comparing. The lux values are what I was looking at and on the face of it there's 3 ten thousands of a lux difference in repsonsiveness. I can't see that making much of a difference but I'm open to being proven wrong.

I've been looking at the specs, whilst the only way will be to see a comparison with the 4kt under simialr lighting, it's not far off in claimed ability: 4kt - Colour - Min Illumination - 0.0005 lux 581 - Colour - Min Illumination - 0.0008 lux So on paper there's just 0.0003 lux difference...

    IVS trouble, sideways Color4K-T

IVS is not the way to go here. When you flip the camera around IVS lines become up and down not side to side. To trigger an IVS alert you have to walk through the lines at 90 degrees on a horizontal plane (not strictly exactly 90 degrees) but think of a + sign as the orientation it detects in...

Skimmed this myself. Just looking at Scrypted's interface it looks like a consumer level interface akin to what I'd expect from a product such as Ring. Review- EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-AS-S3 2.8mm turret fixed lens

Yeah we really need this and if possible vs 4kt. IR is ok but B&W really has a negative effect on identification. Colour makes such a difference if it's possible to run it at high shutters with only a little additional light. ie 300-400 lumens.

    Burglary Tourism?!?

Repeat offences all too common. In the UK shoplifting currently goes all but unpunished. Without threats, the Police usually won't attend.
