Sorry to hear about your father. I agree, it looks like a short barrelled AR to me. You can see the upper receiver quite clearly if you look carefully. That does look cosndierably better than Dahua's own video. Only thing that stands out is that in the office the 25mm lens looks unsharp. Hard to tell from the outside pics without a reference point. -

Yes that's the convenience of all in one. I'm all for it. I'm just not convinced that using 1/2.8 sensors is going to cut it. As above, great idea, maybe a rethink needed of how it's achieved before we have a camera that really appeals on picture quality. In the mean time, if it works for you... -

No. You probably need to compromise the exposure. In the day, Backlight Compensation can help if you draw the compensation area carefully. You probably need to play around with drawing different sized areas and drawing in differing places until you find one that works. Other alternatives are HDR... -

New LED streetlights!
Yeah they're great. Only trouble is the local authority will find out they can save a ton on their bills by turning the brightness down as they're dimmable. At night, our roads look darker now then when we had Sodium. Only advantage is the colour rendition. BTW, looks like gain / shutter...- CCTVCam

TBH I'd consider forgetting the built in lights and mounting a low wattage LED light on the house wall instead on a dusk to dawn sensor. A bulb of maybe 6-8w will give you all the light you need for a decent picture but you can boost that with a motion sensor activated flood light if you... -

I don't sorry. Others are more expert than me and I don't have an NVR either. I use BI. This means I can't guarantee this is the issue. It depends on whether or not the cameras need to be on the same network or not. ATM one camera is on a 192.168....address and the other on a 10.1.1...address...- CCTVCam

How to find the IP address of my Dahua camera
It's on a different network range to your other camera. Maybe that's the issue. If there's an ability to change the IP address from the NVR, change it to one within the same range. Give it a 10.1.1.X address to match your other camera all but for the last digit.- CCTVCam

You've put yourself in a world of hurt. EVen if you can find some English firmeware that would go on, with every firmware update you might try you risk bricking the camera. Wrong firmware = no camera. Best advice, stick it on ebay, buy an International or US version. Andy on here sells... -

Wouldn't say it's the only reasonable choice, but if you're asking for the best camera for the money at a reasonable price, then that's it. Turrets Mounted to Soffit
Cement board soffits. Be careful drilling due to silica. Also, cameras monted to soffits are too high unless they're purelyt over view. Cameras should be at 6-8ft high.- CCTVCam

Have you checked the thread on LPR? LPR is an art. At night the whole image will be black apart from the plate as you need to run IR and a very fast shutter speed. Hence why you need 2 cameras, one for LPR and one normal. You can forget full colour nightime LPR unless you live in a fully lit...
