Where is smart search?
Through the web GUI you have to advance to the next event manually with the mouse and by enlarging the time scale for more accuracy. There is no smart functionality in the web GUI interface. The smart functionality is only available in the native (VGA/HDMI) interface of the NVR. -

Restore the device to the factory defaults and start again the configuration from the beginning. I have found that a lot of problems with the emails problems triggered from the events have been fixed with this method. Do not ask or look for an explanation (even if there is). Just try it.- aster1x

ivms-4500 Error Code 8200 - DS7608NI-E2 with DS-2CD3145F-I
I had the same error code from the iVMS4500 smartphone app from all of my mobile devices for one camera that used to work properly. After a lot of messing with firmware downgrade-upgrade of the camera and the NVR, a simple camera restore to defaults eliminated the 8200 error. Go figure!!!! -

@alastairstevenson On the camera GUI of the 2335 with firmware 5.5.3 at the playback view, there is no "swizzler" at the bottom left of the screen to select what event type to show at the timeline. Can you please post a picture of what you see and specify camera model and firmware? -

I simply upgraded (in fact downgraded) from 5.5.4 to 5.5.3 firmware through the web gui interface of the camera. Downgrading between the various 5.5.x versions is allowed. Downgrading from 5.5.0 to lower versions is not allowed. -

DS-2CD2335FWD-I with DS-7616N-E2/8P NVR
Select the -Ix series not the -Ex series. The E series are lower specified hence slightly cheaper. The -I series are more future proof. -
