    Something else you might want to think about is taking your wifes name off any joint property. Its sad but people try and steal identities so they can steal your stuff. I took my wifes name off the land and home we shared right after she passed.

    I embarrassingly admit that when my wife had cancer we tried a natural approach. Hell we tried everything else and when you're desperate your thoughts get clouded. It cost us alot of money and other family members helped us out. It obviously didn't work and later there was a law suit of sorts...

    Here in WA state we can have weeks on end of dark gloomy, rainy weather in the winter. I would need a setup large enough to power a light for weeks without any charging from the sun.

    That was my biggest concern with using solar lighting for my camera system. I just didn't think it would be reliable enough. It was more work running the cable but unless the power goes out my lights will always work year around.

    How do you seal an unused 12V Connector on the camera?

    I didn't do anything to any of the other connections on all my cameras. Everything is tucked away inside my enclosed soffits. I didn't do anything with the extra wires on my previous camera system either and they were all working perfectly after years of service.

    I third the suggestion on an additional IR illuminator. It helped me considerably on my mini PTZ cam. In the left photo it shows the onboard IR with striping and IR glare off the dome. The right photo is the onboard IR turned off and my external IR illuminator turned on.
