I verified my settings. Thought I was on something else. Running 1/30 at home for night shots. I agree 1/6 is slow but really pulls the light in. Good ol' tradeoffs. -

Who's ARPing my Camera?
A static device like a IP cam doesn't need DHCP. It's your network so build as you wish. Makes no sense though...... I try to limit DHCP down to nothing if I can. Why? Someone can plug a variety of gizmos in to your switch and get an IP on YOUR network. At least it will slow the "honest"...- 0460dirt

best/funniest audible alert for cams that have that capability

Like I said, at MY HOUSE. We all have different nighttime light levels. Try it at your house and see??? I can double check that 1/6 value. I know it's slower than 1/30. UPDATE, trying 1/12 now for night shots. -

I just read your post on here. Huge thank you for making this. I already manually entered all the times "per" "camera" LOL. What a doozy. Blue Iris does a daily sunrise and sunset time for us based on lat and long. Nice to integrate it as you did. -

Need Help with Low Bitrate on Hikvision Camera
I think what is going on is you want 16mb and get after all the lossy encoding is 2mb. So at the sensor is 16mb. At the NVR or BI for example the rate is peanuts. Seems normal to me. Just calculate the bandwidth of a 10 minute trigger at 16mb. Or someone doing constant records WOW. It's H.26X... -

Going crazy - POE Hikvision cam works, Amcrest won't - same cable
Going to 23ga is a game changer guys. Lower signal to noise on the line and many more positive aspects. If I buy any CAT Ethernet cable it is 23ga. Even 24ga copper Belden CAT 5e was lacking in raw bandwidth sending video files from a PC to another PC. Wouldn't saturate the full 1GB line speed...- 0460dirt

Going crazy - POE Hikvision cam works, Amcrest won't - same cable
These panoramic cams are rated at 802. blah blah AF. AF is a 15 watts max spec. The Hik Pano you listed has 2 sensors so it will pull all 15 watts. Your switch is rather lacking on POE budget. 15 watts x 8 ports is 120 watts. Get a switch with a greater POE budget.- 0460dirt

Because you don't have the BASIC motion set proper. You can turn on USE ZONES AND HOTSPOT and mask the tree movement and other false triggering areas of your shot. Again turn off ALL forms of triggering until you master the BASIC one in BI. It will only confuse you. -

Simple nighttime and a black car with not enough CONTRAST setting in basic motion detection. Lower CONTRAST setting to give it a better chance of triggering. Plus your shutter speed was too fast with deficient light???? -

Far as not detecting cars at night, those are super easy to trigger. All you need is the "basic" motion sensor with object size and contrast in Blue Iris. Turn off all the other ONVIF and Advanced motion detectors. Just focus on the "basic" till you get it down. So simple object size and... -
