How to set up P1468-LE with Blue Iris

What would be a better height if I would want to do face captures as well?

How to set up P1468-LE with Blue Iris

Thanks, I'll try your recommended settings. What do you have the WDR tone mapping set to? Your capture of the Amazon driver looks very good, but the white light helps a lot of course :-) The camera is mounted at about 3.50 meters, not exactly sure.

How to set up P1468-LE with Blue Iris

Well I'm used to the best practices for Dahua cameras as laid out by @wittaj. So for example, different settings for shutter time and gain during the day and night. During the day I can easily run a max shutter of 1/250 with a max gain of 30 but during the night it gets too dark with these...

How to set up P1468-LE with Blue Iris

Quick update: the camera is now operational and mounted outdoors. It's working well, but I still need to play with the video settings to get the best video quality. @smiticans I have a few questions you can maybe help me with: 1. Is it correct that Axis doesn't have support for a day and night...

How to set up P1468-LE with Blue Iris

Thanks @wittaj and @smiticans for your help! This morning I updated Blue Iris to the latest version and miraculously BI is now properly processing the OVIF events from the Axis camera. I'm running Axis OS 12. Now that initial setup is completed, I'll just have to wait for my pole mount to...

How to set up P1468-LE with Blue Iris

OK, I figured it out... when I set ONVIF discovery port to 80 instead of 8999 it works. So at least it's now properly setup with ONVIF. Unfortunately a "test alarm" triggered by AXIS Object Analytics still doesn't seem to trigger an ONVIF event within Blue Iris.

How to set up P1468-LE with Blue Iris

This is the log when I use the "normal" (web UI) credentials for the cam: Opening 192.168.20.107 port 80... HTTP Get / request... OK ONVIF GetSystemDateAndTime 2024-11-28T21:57:21.000Z Requesting device information... GetCapabilities... Bad response Checking for common cameras... Foscam...

How to set up P1468-LE with Blue Iris

Yes, Dahua has 8MP with 1/1.2" sensor, but not with IR capability. I should have clarified that. This unfortunately isn't working. I also tried setting up an ONVIF user on the cam, but with those credentials it is not working either. This is why I went for the method as described in my...

How to set up P1468-LE with Blue Iris

I have an existing Blue Iris installation with several Dahua 5442 cams, but I'm completely new to Axis cameras. I bought a P1468-LE because I wanted to play with a 8MP cam with 1/1.2" sensor. Unfortunately Dahua still isn't offering such a camera. During the initial setup process within Blue...

Smart Motion Detection generating a lot of false positives

I have a couple of Dahua IPC-HDW5442T-ZE turrets. On these cameras I have Smart Motion Detection enabled to filter for only Human and Vehicle events. No matter the selected Sensitivity (I tried medium and low), the cameras seem to be triggering on any motion event regardless, such as birds...

Recommendations for 4K camera with 1/1.2” sensor and IR

You’re probably right. I can only find one camera with the IMX585, but it’s not a surveillance camera. Since the release of “proper” 4K cameras (with 1/1.2 sensor) seems to be imminent I’m trying to decide if I should wait for them or if I should just go with 4mp at 1/1.8 now. @EMPIRETECANDY Do...

Recommendations for 4K camera with 1/1.2” sensor and IR

What I have found so far: AXIS P1468-LE Bullet camera ($1,049) AXIS Q3538-LVE Dome camera ($1,499) Considering Andy is selling his Full-Color 4K camera with 1/1.2" sensor for around $250, I was hoping there are more affordable options than AXIS. Unfortunately Andy's cam doesn't work with IR...

Recommendations for 4K camera with 1/1.2” sensor and IR

Hi all, I’m looking for 4K cameras with a 1/1.2” sensor (or better) and IR capabilities. If I’m not mistaken they are not offered by Dahua or Hikvision. Is there any other brand that offer these specs? I’m looking for bullet, dome and turret style cameras. I read Sony released their IMX585...

    5442 end of life?

Same here! How much longer do you guys think it’ll take until Dahua releases a 4K camera with 1/1.2” sensor and IR?

    Recordings stutter

I think I may have found the culprit. The PC is a brand-new machine, and I installed an additional NIC from TP-Link (TG-3468). Initially when I booted Windows for the first time, I noticed the entire system was freezing for several seconds every 10 seconds or so. I disabled the NIC in Windows'...

    Recordings stutter

And one more observation: if the video skips/stutters, it's happening with all cameras at that time.

    Recordings stutter

Two more thoughts: If networking would be the issue, I would also expect the 6MB read buffer to "catch" any small intermittent network delays. I have an example of a recording this morning where the video stutters several times or even just skips 10 seconds in a second or so (looking at the...

    Recordings stutter

Thank you for the tips and suggestions. I have tried/investigated the following: Intel VPP I have set hardware acceleration to "Intel" (thus disabling VPP). Recordings stutter

I’m new to Blue Iris and just set up the system with 7 cameras (5x 1.3mp, 1x 2MP and 1x 4MP 5442T-ZE). All cameras are setup with the following settings: H264, highest quality setting Bitrate of 2048 kbps for the low res cameras, 3072 kbps for the 2MP camera and 8192 kbps for the 4MP camera 25...

    IPC-T5442T-ZE IR brightness

Thanks a lot! This is very helpful information. Is there a downside to using H265? I thought that H265 can offer better quality at a similar bit rate or the same quality at a lower bitrate compared to H264.

    IPC-T5442T-ZE IR brightness

Thanks, that explains it. Much appreciated! Which brings me to the following question: is there a guide to optimal settings for both day and night performance for this camera? Or is everything on "auto" sufficient?

    IPC-T5442T-ZE IR brightness

Hello, I’m testing a Dahua IPC-T5442T-ZE. I noticed that one of the two IR lights is significantly less bright than the other, even when I set the illuminator manually to 100% in the software. Are others seeing this behavior as well, or does this indicate a malfunction of one of the two IR lights?
