    as an added note, I have over 1 TB of free space on my drive. and the "New" and "Storage" folders have plenty of wiggle room in them based on the limits I set... it's really making me wonder what is causing the issue. worried about faulty RAM or a bad Hard Drive.

    As far as security around my house and garage, I've got a pretty good view of nearly everything. Obviously the angles are not exact, but it's a pretty good representation of the field of view. Think nearly all cameras are a 4mm lens, couple are 2mp and few are 3mp Hikvision.

    not sure what the porch lighting is in relationship to the natural light outside, but try to relocate the camera temporarily and subject it to natural sunlight and if I had to guess (if you have the same problem as me) it will switch properly.
