    My longest run is roughly 170 feet, so I wouldn't think it would be an issue using either a POE+ port or a regular POE port

    In your experience, connecting to the NVR POE ports using an injector in between was not successful? I think I'll just run the included supply and be done with it. That's how the current PTZ camera is set up with no issues

    I've always used the supply included with the PTZ camera, since I haven't owned an NVR with POE+ until recently. Good info to know.

    Not an external switch. All cameras are connected to the POE switch built into the NVR. I'm not sure if the NVR5216-16P-4KS2E has POE+

    PTZ cameras typically require more power for the motors, which is why a dedicated power supply is included

    Not that I have a use for it at the moment, but the NVR could be a spare. Cameras I'm not really too interested in. Current owner is asking just under $200 for all of it and there are some camera mounting brackets and junction boxes as well. Just seems a shame to let it go at that price

    Looks like I have a chance to grab yet another NVR5216-16P-4KS2 with (8) cameras at a good price locally. Cameras are: 7 - Dahua HDW5231RN-Z 1 - Dahua HDBW4231FP-AS Any thoughts on any of the items? The NVR is the 4KS2, not the 4KS2E

    In Florida, license plate is considered property of the state and cannot be covered or obstructed in any way, including clear covers, but I see them installed. Of course if I were to install one, I'd get pulled over every time I left my house, its my luck.
