    Simple answer is you can't, I would look for the original firmware 1st and grab the tftp tool, you will get the info on the sticker on the side of the NVR.

    I had hit a block also, I managed to brick and recover but not via a recommend method, not sure if this is a trap or a poor error again from hik as its plays up for genuine recovery of a failed firmware update.

    Does sound strange, but Ice had the same issue on a ptz, what fixed that was reinstalling the firmware via tftp but I had to take it down with was a pain as it 12metres up

    These are just stuck on min-system and need tftp to recover use the firmware on the camera's sticker to recover.

    Have you tried using the downgraders and changing the firmware's region with hiktools? I have just updated the downgrader with both EN and CH files, remember to change the file name to digicap.dav 1st then it should work for you.

    Plug the camera direct into the NVR with a pretty made lead as short as possible this will prove the camera and the port of the NVR, also plug your pc to the NVR Poe Poe and run sadp remember to set your pc ip to match that of the Poe side of the NVR.

    Check they don't have a static IP address on them, use SADP to remove DCHP if it does. If it has a static IP it will power but wont connect or detect it on the nvr POE port. But it would work fine on a POE switch with a static IP.

    In the UK all commercial property by law have to register their CCTV installation so the Police or others can request a copy or if it incriminates the police try and force you do delete it before you post it online. Domestic installs don't need to do this.
