Maybe this article is true, maybe not, I'm not addressing that. But it's another example of journalistic malpractice.
The first sentence says : "A chilling new analysis has revealed that sudden deaths among younger airline pilotscontinue to surge", yet one example with numbers says "Since 2021, early pilot deaths — those occurring before retirement age — have jumped by a staggering 40 percent."
I would think that "younger" would mean 20s and 30s, yet this cited percentage includes up to age 60. Is this data adjusted for the size of the pilot population? Airline traffic has skyrocketed. Is the article comparing raw deaths counts from a smaller population of pilots in the past, to a larger population now? If the number of pilots has increased by 40% since 2021, the 40% increase in death count is to be expected.
