Well it ended up being super cheap on eBay and I really like the old super zoom (30x) feature so I took a pint on one advertised as "not tested".

LOL. Yeah I bet they didn't. Anyway it seems to be an issue with POE and I think the issue might be related to this:

Underneath is a transformer. Is it possible anyone might know the value for this component and where I can find a replacement?

My spidey senses tell me this looks like the problem. Only just stripped and discovered this so no test results as yet but I am determined to get this thing going. The rest of it looks clean as a whistle and the optics are MASSIVE!

Reading some of the other posts here, it looks like I could simply bypass this component which I assume is part of the POE power supply because a known good POE does nothing. There is another connector which I assume is a separate (?) data/power optional extra. For this old bus I'd be happy to send it a separate supply but would simply removing this apparently dead transformer circumvent the issue or might it be shared with both the direct and poe supply?

You could try to replace the PTDFD25-13NL if you have the right tools. This device you could find from Pulse Electronics distributors. However before doing this I would double check other components on the board as well.. PoE controller IC from someone like Ti, Silvertel or many others.. Test Mosfets and Schottky diodes they often die with transformers..

Don't know the camera does it offer a dual power or only POE? If it does have you tried using the 12/24v secondary power? If you have a Power ORing controller like dual Schottky diodes or an ideal diode IC you might be safe to inject power for testing. Anything markings on the PCB that shows 12v or any other voltage on the PCB mask?

2015 camera so not sure what MP or TVL it offers but if you are use and repair enabled then nice save from the landfill ..
 
Thanks, I believe it is marked PTEFD25-13NL and the best I can find so far related to the packaging (ETD-39) and an unspecified prduct from here: PTEFD25-13NL - Prosper Electronics

I am still really none the wiser but it's early days. The code could be internal specific only to Axis internally and this would be a custom manufacture.

Still hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I will be pulling it off the board anyway to have a closer look. With any luck , with all that rot, it could be a simple case of an open circuit wire underneath the encapsulation.
 
Yes you are right, I read and typed without confirming the part number sorry have Dyslexia and things don't always translate to well in my typing..

Sady both Prosper and Pulse don't have any data sheet for this Transformer and with it being from 2015 they would know and maybe contacting the people at Prosper could get you the info you need to get a replacement that would work even if you had to source form another electronics company.

However with my time working on Analog and IP PTZ cameras normally when this POE Flyback dies other things do as well. Adding it back into circuit that has other bad parts could destroy your new Transformer.. Just trying to save you some time and pain with the idea of checking out the other things around it because they don't always have to look bad to be bad..

Page 62 of the PDF and is really page 60.. For your EFD 25. Still will need to confirm info about your product but at least at start.. Yours is a 12 pad the ones I work with mostly are EFD 10 pad SMD devices but same concept..

Sorry thought I would give it a shot, my Axis has different power but took it apart anyway incase it had same type setup it don't.
