Hello

I am trying to understand how the Dahua HTTP API works for retrieving motion events.

I have found this in their manual:

1707473789845.png

I tried the example in my browser, replacing the IP with my NVR IP / port, but I get a 400 "Error this page isnt working".

Just wondering has anyone actually got this to work? What did they do and what does the response look like?

Is that particular API meant to query the camera and not the NVR?
Also, if the NVR is POE then the cameras are on a different subnet than the NVR's LAN.

Thanks for the reply - I thought it can be used to query the NVR. The NVR model is a NVR5208. The IP address I am using is the IP address of the NVR.

yes POE NVR
There should be a link on the NVR's registration page that will take you to the camera's webGUI...look for a big blue e symbol.

If not, give your PC a unique static IP in the same subnet as the cams, such as 10.XXX.XXX.XXX, subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, no gateway and plug that PC directly into an unused POE port on the NVR. Then type in the desired camera's IP into a browser and open up that cam's webGUI.
