Outside the municipal office one morning: Suddenly, a car speeds toward a family; one victim is injured, and the office entrance is damaged. Now the police are using photos to search for the suspects.
Nearly a year and a half after a violent attack outside a municipal office in Cologne, the police are publicly searching for the alleged perpetrators. Officers have released photos—and they are warning the public: The suspects may be armed. “Be sure to notify the police and do not approach the suspects.”
During the attack on Thursday, February 20, 2025, a car and then an axe were used as weapons. It happened around 10:30 a.m. The target of the attack was a family of four who had just left the Cologne-Nippes municipal office.

“According to current information, the suspects had also been inside the office beforehand,” the police now report. Then they launched the attack.

A neighborhood full of Ring cameras captured some door checkers.

Based on timestamps, they were back there for over 3 hours and got away with a lot of stuff in unlocked cars, and stole a car that had the keys left in it.

Many of the cameras were motion light activated and they didn't flinch. Need audio too and why didn't any of these people have an alert set up as well....

Let's see how well they captured from different houses:

That's pretty bad all around—Ring should be ashamed that their logo is on such poor quality video. Sad to think those Ring cameras are so popular! The $110 IPC-Color4M-TL camera does substantially better than this on all counts. You get a brighter and clearer image with much less motion blur and more reliable triggering.
