Well .. I have had a bit of rain now and a few more days of night vision to play with.
A couple of observations.
1. Night time rain performance is quite frankly astounding. My other cameras have this white haze of rain but this camera almost seems to have some kind of "rain filter" that makes...
Well well. After playing around a bit today with the camera I have found that I might indeed use the AI functions. They seem pretty robust and might be somewhat false alarm proof. Worth a shot in any event.
Something else I found was a fisheye correction setting. Didn't actually do much other...
Yup..... agreed. I like this camera already. Cheap really for what you get. Starts adding up for a few though so would rather phase the old ones out as they go bung. No need to burn money right ? :)

I also have a kangaroo or 2 visit at night to nibble the grass on the paddock (few acres here). That would annoy me going off all the time.
In general though I just don't have the need to run a PC all the time with software when an NVR will do the job I want...
2.8mm is much better. I don't want to cover every angle with multiple cameras and if they are going to break in they will have to walk towards the camera right ?
It's really just to see who is around, anyone coming to murder us or steal from us will probably do a good job of covering up anyway...
