Hikvisions newest Pro Series Hybrid cameras

The older non hybrid 8mp Hik uses that sensor. But it's fixed lens.

Hikvisions newest Pro Series Hybrid cameras

Good info. I want some of the hybrid light tech and unfortunately Dahua only does that in their cheap TiOC cameras.

Hikvisions newest Pro Series Hybrid cameras

4MP is for night, 8MP is daytime detail....or a compromise of both....6MP. It is very much a compromise. It should have more detail than a 4mp during the day and better night performance than a 8MP at night. You can flip it to worse detail during the day and worse night performance too. If...

Hikvisions newest Pro Series Hybrid cameras

I understand and the certainly are better (more expensive) ai options out there. Additionally you can get something like a p8221 i/o module and avoid running additional wires to the camera. Especially nice if the cameras are done and you decide to use i/o's after. I use DW Spectrum and can...

Best 4k Colour Night Vision Turret Camera

You have options and personally I really like Hik over Dahua. You tend to get a bigger image sensor for the cameras I'm interested in and sharper, less oversaturated picture. Many here will disagree and forum sellers tend to lean Dahua, so make your own opinions. Remember these cameras have...

Hikvisions newest Pro Series Hybrid cameras

I set up my Hik 2387g2 camera to monitor my car I park on the side of the garage. It's not active during the day unless my alarm is set, but is active every night and I get a text message every time it's triggered. So far I've gotten one false alarm on it, I adjusted my min and max and haven't...

Hikvisions newest Pro Series Hybrid cameras

Looks like Hikvision has a new line of cameras that incorporate an IR with a white light when needed, like the TIoc. But they are using the 1/1.8" sensor over the Tioc's 1/2.7". The hybrid LED turret camera is really a game changer in my opinion. I don't want white lights all over the...

2386G2 - Smart events not working at night

Really? I had thought that perhaps the analytics don't realize the camera is rotated but I moved on from that idea since they worked during the day. I'll rotate it tomorrow and try again. I don't need the height I just don't care about the neighbor's yard. I forced it into day mode and...

2386G2 - Smart events not working at night

During the day it triggers as soon as I approach the car. At night I can walk all the way around it repeatedly and never get a trigger.

2386G2 - Smart events not working at night

I just purchased the camera and updated it right away, so I never used it on the old firmware. Mostly default for video, no BLC, WDR or HLC. 1/60 exposure Night motion is pretty clear. I have a light out there and honestly surprised it is going into night mode, The old camera stayed in color...

2386G2 - Smart events not working at night

Worked great in the daylight again. Anyone have issues with events at night? picture is clear of course. Validity is only at high, 80% sensitivity for human detection.

2386G2 - Smart events not working at night

I updated with the newest available firmware about a month ago and I feel the events are not very consistent in how they work. Currently I have Intrusion detected set to trigger the output on the camera and it seems to work just fine during the day, but at night in black&white / IR mode it...

    Bit Rate question

That has not been my experience. Typically when I do an audit or a customer says we were told we would get 45 days and we are not it's because cameras were left at h264. I remotely connect and change every camera to h265 and that alone drops the average bitrate by 20-30% overall. When I connect...

    Bit Rate question

Sure. Wasteful and ineffecient but it is more fool proof to just recording at max settings with little to no compression. Guess it depends on what you're trying to do, priorities and being realistic with capabilities and understanding capabilities.

    Bit Rate question

Those issues are unfortunate and I uncertainly don't have them but I don't use Blue Iris.
