Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

Hi Jack, the birdbox is actually a Green Feathers one that I bought with the original camera as a kit but kept the box when I sent the camera back. I can't seem to find it on their website though so I'll do a picture and post. I will also post some captures as you ask but I'm guessing you are...

Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

Cracked it! - I downloaded a similar but different Golbong app called VMS rather than CMS and this worked with the compatibility mode settings. Seems to have the same functionality and still won't work for playback with the UNV camera but is a workable solution for Golbong camera. Wallport

Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

OK, so I changed Windows resolution to 1920x1080 (not sure if you meant to change the monitor resolution itself but no ability to do that), undid the compatibility settings and ran CMS - got the black box top left and the detached panel top right again. Then, with the program still running, I...

Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

I reinstalled CMS5, set compatibility settings as above in properties, when I ran the app I got a login box which is bigger and looked promising but when I clicked OK, I got a black box (window) in the top left of my screen which refused to resize and a disconnected oval box top right of the...

Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

Hi thanks for that but I already tried that workaround (although I'm in the process of completely uninstalling all the versions of CMS I tried and will try again with a clean install - not at all confident though). I don't know if CMS would do everything as I find it unusable at the moment - I...

Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

OK so after a little while evaluating the Green Backyard wifi birdbox camera (the new waterproof one), I can say that it can be made to work locally without insisting on communicating via a cloud server. They do suggest the same software and there is a lot in common with the other kit but it...

Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

An update, I have ordered one from Green Backyard - a new product just launched which claims to be waterproof in addition to being capable of local operation without cloud p2p. Will be a couple of weeks before I get it but will post an update when I try it out. Not sure why Green Feathers and...

Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

Yes I too am wondering this but I sent some questions to golbong (who appear to be behind green backyard as the contact us link goes to them) and the answers say they dont rely on cloud p2p. The product does look incredibly similar except brown instead of green. I am awaiting my refund but am...

Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

Maybe some confusion over green feathers versus green backyard? Wallport

Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

I had a 3rd gen camera at first but it had a loud speaker which couldn't be silenced when reset eg when power is lost. Can you imagine the impact of a spoken message about wifi connection from a speaker inside the box when birds are nesting? They were trying to find a solution to this - hope...

Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

The existing camera gets its power from the shed and I was planning on taking a longer low voltage cable which I already have down the garden from the shed. Powerline adapters over the mains to the shed may be an option but there would still need to be a long Ethernet cable down to the birdbox...

Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

I realise I didn't say above but I do also need wifi support as I can't really string Ethernet cables down my garden. Pity - I was surprised by the low price. Thanks anyway wallport

Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

Thanks to all who tried to help but I have had to give up and return the camera. I would be grateful if anyone has any advice on an alternative small birdbox camera available in the UK which is standards based, doesn't enforce the use of cloud P2P and will work on my network alongside my...

Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

...and after a while of having the WAN connected again, the stream and pings and the limited onvif detection have stopped working but ICSee Pro is still showing the feed. Seems that it reverts to its cloud only personality when connected.

Bird box camera uses cloud p2p - possible to configure and use locally?

Brilliant idea! Indeed this has allowed me to get a stream working for the first time to a generic app running on Windows (OBS). Ping started working too. Although its still limited to Internet Explorer with an ActiveX plugin, this too allowed access the stream and the device config. So I now...
