    I've bought the ds-1259zj bracket to mount my dome on the ceiling, however... I need a cable gland/fitting to bring the network cable inside. The bracket looks as this; as you can see it has an opening with a cap on it. I think it's M25 screw? I've visited numerous DIY / construction shops...

    I think what he meant to say is that it's quite sure the manufacturers won't upgrade firmware for all cameras for this. They will most likely only implement it on new models. Are there any known manufacturers which have implemented new ways of transmitting?

    I know they're working. I've read more about foscam issues using blue iris. Some of them solved it by downgrading or upgrading the firmware.

    I'm pretty sure you've burned the router by using that xcable. You could try to connect a straight cable and hope all will be fine. If not, replace the router. As fenderman has said, throw away the crosscable or at least put some danger labels on it.

    Oh you should have used a straight cable. The wiring brings the power cables on a different place with a crosscable.
