Very strange issue and need help please

What video encoding you are using on the camera stream? H.265 or H.264? I could imagine that H.265 is causing these artefacts in movements.

Blue Iris + Dahua(EmpireTech) IVS Setup Questions

Thank you for this hint. I will check once I find time for playing around. Maybe I have a delay in the stream received by BI. Just guessing. But basically no Issue I have for real live situation. I want to detect persons and this so far is running fine. The issue I got with animals that are...

Blue Iris + Dahua(EmpireTech) IVS Setup Questions

OK. Thank you. I am still evaluating different possibilities to combine functions of the cam, Blueiris and AI. But if this is the best I can expect, I am already at the end.

Blue Iris + Dahua(EmpireTech) IVS Setup Questions

OK. My wording could lead to misunderstanding. Fast I would consider to trigger by motion detection with Blueiris, do AI object detection in Blueiris and cancel or alert depending on the result of the object detection. Trigger and event are close together and influenced by moten detection in...

Blue Iris + Dahua(EmpireTech) IVS Setup Questions

I like the concept of using the IVS of the camera to detect and trigger via onvif and Blueiris for recording. The downside I have discovered is a time delay between event and trigger. For just recording you can increase the pre-trigger recording time. But if you want to use AI in Blueiris to do...

Continuously recording and video clips with different retention time

Yes, I believe this is clear to me. There are three options in Blue Iris: Database only, JPEG or MP4/BVR file. These pictures or clips will be stored in the Alert folder and their retention will follow the setting of this folder. I believe this setting "Export to MP4/BVR" + "replace" will lead...

Continuously recording and video clips with different retention time

Thank you for answer. I did not listed this option as it does not provide an automatic retention I was looking for. Additionally, in combination with continuously recording, it keeps the complete recorded "block" and not just the sequence that has been triggered. This function of retention is...

Continuously recording and video clips with different retention time

Hello, What is the best way to achieve the following use case? Continuously recording with short retention time (about 3 weeks) Video clips of (confirmed) alerts with long retention time (about 3 month) I thought this could be a common use case. But it looks like this only is possible to...

Dahua / EmpireTech AI IVS rule as ONIVF trigger in Blue Iris

Thank your for the detailed explanation. A part of this I already found somewhere before. But this line does the trick I was looking for: a separate IVS for person, animal and vehicle to be able to distinguish in Blue Iris.

Dahua / EmpireTech AI IVS rule as ONIVF trigger in Blue Iris

How can I fully utilize the ONIVF trigger information from my EmpireTech camera in Blue Iris? So far I am quite fine with the IVS AI rules in my EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3. Blue Iris can receive the IVS rule trigger by ONIVF. The camera itself can do object detection for person, vehicle and...

Best wall-mounted touch screen viewer of feed?

This is what I am using as a display for my home automatization since now 10 years. I am more an Android fan. But back in these days I decided for an used iPpad because it looked more "stylish" when mounted on the wall and I could find more good looking wall mounts for iPads. Noways you can find...

Run Blue Iris Tools as admin on startup automatically without disabling UAC

BI has a build-in function to configure it to run as Windows service. This will give you the same result to start-up BI but less complicate.

Distinguishing between motion events and alerts

Yes, this would be good. I like the view in Frigate where you have a separate timeline for triggert alarms and motion. I am new to this topic and I am playing around with the cameras, Frigate and Blue Iris. The motion view helps me to better see what the alram triggers have missed and gives me...

    sub-stream resolution

With substream 1 @ 640x480 I got the bluring issue as described above. With substream 2 @1280x720 the issue is gone. I had to change the substream as substream 1 does not provide this resolution. Yes, only one substream is active. All other are deactivated.

    [Dahua] Recommendations needed

I would say it depends on the speed of your NAS serving the SMB shares and the speed of your network connection. With two cameras I have no issue writing directly to a SMB share served by TrueNAS. But this I am doing only because my BI is virtualized and there is no local disk. In a dedicated...
