EmpireTech 7 Years Anniversay Promotion Plan

Thank you! I am adding a couple to my system in easy to see locations because of the visual deterrence (bullet cams are what the average person thinks a security cam looks like) combined with their modest size (a full size bullet would be out of place). I also have 5442 turrets that are great.

EmpireTech 7 Years Anniversay Promotion Plan

Hi Andy, Is new camera IPC-B5442E-SE 3.6mm (MINI BULLET) based on the same 1/1.8 sensor and technology as the other 5442 cams?

    Dahua IPC-HDW5442TM-AS VBR looks terrible

The 5442 series, while excellent overall, are definitely hampered in this area. I have to run CBR 8192 as well, and even then the bitrate isn't quite enough - there is image quality left on the table, but even at 8192 it's already having occasional dropouts in audio because it's tiny little CPU...

    HP Pavilion G6 For BI?

Sure, I agree its old and inefficient. the CPU is 35w TDP and the GPU is 25w TDP, so it's not going to be a terrible space heater or anything like that, but a modern skylake/kabylake (or newer intel or equivalent ryzen) processor would definitely use a lot less power for the same work done (and...

    HP Pavilion G6 For BI?

If you solely wanted it for recording D2D with no motion detection, it might be OK. I use a very low power NUC for such a purpose and it works well. but that greatly limits what you can actually do with BI of course. at that point it's just a glorified NVR.

    IPC-T5442TM-AS max bit rate limited?

I have a IPC-T5442TM-AS that I generally like pretty well. I use it in H.265 mode, 10 FPS, with the Iframe interval at 10 as well. I have all the built-in detection stuff (IVS, etc.) off because I'm using BI. The problem I'm having is that image quality seems to improve up to a bit rate of...

    Blue Iris config update

The computer you linked has an i7 9700 and is massively more powerful than what you have now; it should be up to the task with some room to grow.

    Blue Iris config update

your processor is the problem. Intel may call it an i7, but the i7-6500U is still only a dual core processor. Even something "last generation" (like an i5-8400) would absolutely run circles around it. You probably need to move away from the NUC form factor and look into something like a SFF...

Can Blue Iris re-broadcast camera stream?

My cameras aren't stable pushing two streams, it causes them to crash every few weeks. If the first bi fails, then it immediately becomes obvious at the second bi (the one that is actually hooked to a monitor that I would see on a daily basis when I checked the motion events) because the second...

Can Blue Iris re-broadcast camera stream?

I would like a setup wherein I have Blue Iris on a low power PC with lots of storage that is hidden away in some closet, and it just does direct-to-disc of all video with no motion analysis. I would like the Blue Iris on this PC to somehow re-publish the raw streams from my cameras (not...
